I woke up as the first ray of weak sunshine filled the ship, and the smell of sweet unagi’s filled the air. I sat up, and rubbed my eyes, yawned and looked around for that boy. Not seeing him, I went to the small table in the corner, and ate the sweet bread in a hurry. As my stomach filled up, my mind cleared. After all, you can’t think on an empty stomach. I decided to explore this strange Island.

Snails. At least they were familiar, then I realized with a pang of homesickness. I still had my little small green snail, Bobby, my blue one, Bobbed, and red snail, Bob. My mom had laughed when i used those names. “At least they’re original,” she teased me. I stopped in front of a big, pudgy and slimy green thing. As I reached out to touch it, it sucked my hand into it’s body. I shrieked and cried, smacked it once with my bat, and ran. It came after me and was gaining, as I heard a sound. “Gloooop”. Curious, I kept on running but turned around slightly, to see what had happened to that monster. Instead of seeing the green, bouncy jello thing. I saw the boy, smiling and holding a wand, he reached over, picked up 15 mesos, and put it in his waist pouch.

Laughing, we ran around the Pet Walk. Seeing who could be the first one to reach the top. As we flopped down, panting, we talked about our lifes.
“I just wanted to see what was on the other side of the ocean.” I said, embarrassed.
He let out a low whistle. “I remembered when I came here with my parents,” he told me, then stopped and stared at the sky.
“What happened to them?” I asked awkwardly, after a long silence.
He just looked at me with his big brown eyes, and whispered softly. ” They’re gone…” looked away and took a deep breath.
Ashamed, I put a hand on his shoulder and we stayed like that till somebody else came, with a Dino ~ who didn’t sound very nice, fire flaming from his lips (the Dino not the person).
As we ran, he reached out and grabbed my hand. We looked at each other, gave a shy grin and then looked away. I felt something in my heart, a pure feeling, like nothing could be wrong.
The ship was in sight, when we saw this elderly man, called John.
“Excuse me kids, but can you do me a favor?” He gasped in a painful voice.
He gave us a picture, “I need these flowers, I’ll transport you there if you’ll help me.” I looked at Andy (the boy’s name I found out later). He nodded, so we agreed&a second later, we were in a strange place, with lots of jumping blocks.
“LOL ANDY!!! HURRY UP” I laughed as Andy fell repeatedly on this step.
“I’m trying, I’m trying.” He huffed trying to sound mad, biting his lip. But then he gave in and laughed too.
5 hours later:
“Andy…are you coming or not?” I groaned, almost asleep.
“Hold on, I know I can do this!!!” -Atempts to jump, fails- “HOLD ON! I’ll get it this time!” He shouted up to me.
“Andy, it’s only the first step, can’t you just at least jump that?” I pleaded.
-Jumps, Fails. Jumps, Fails- “I KNOW I CAN DO IT” -Jumps, lands on step-
“O M G! Fiiiiiiiinally!” I jumped to the 3rd step.
“COMING!” He grinned with pride. -jumps to 2nd step, falls back down to the bottom-.
“…Andy tell me when you reach my step, in the meantime I want to take a nap.” I teased&ducked as a clump of grass flew at my head.
