White light blinded my retinas as I opened my eyes. Lost in confusion and a little disoriented by the recent events, I hoped, no, prayed that It was all a dream. I opened my eyes again, slowly this time to adjust to the light. I was in a plain white room, with tulips in the white windowsill. The curtains were closed, yet it was still bright from the enhanced torch light in the center of the room. The ground was covered in white tiles, melding into each other. There was a double door straight across from the comfy bed I layed in. I sat up, surprised, although I was expecting it, from sorness covering my body. I heard nothing.

I was covered in bandages, more then I expected. Am I in a hospital? I thought. Wheres my brother? Why am I here? Images rushed from my memory of the capcising boat. My eyes grew teary as I thought of my deceased mother and father. Even though I wanted to, I could not contain the tears and they flushed down my cheeks, falling into my lap. I dried my eyes with my sleeve, and thought about what I should do. Should I wait or get up and look around? I decided to wait, as my vision was blurred from my tears.

Soon enaugh, a lady, dressed in all white came in, holding a notepad. She had brown hair, straigh but frilled at the ends, turning them upwards, going to her shoulders. Her eyes were a beautiful sky blue, and she had thin lips. I doubt she was older then I. She looked up and pulled her notebook towards her, surprised. “Oh, sorry for interupting like this, I would have knocked, if I had known you we’re awake.” I assured her that it wasn’t a problem, and asked where and why I was here. “I do not know of the details,” she said in a high but lulling voice, “but you were found outside the hospital”-So I was in a hospital-” covered in this.” She held up my brothers grey cloak.

Turns out Lufrop abandoned me on the street for the nurses to find. I thought he had come back for good. What was he hiding? Why was he running from his own family? “Also, this note came with you.” She handed me the note, I scraped her hand as she did. Her hand was smooth and soft, much like baby skin. The note read:

” Solo, do not be furious with me. I left for good reason. There is an inscrition around the cloak. Find it, discover what it says, and you will know what to do. Do not seek me, for I wish for you not to find me. Keep out of trouble, as I may not be around. I’m sorry about mom and dad.

Lufrop”

I looked at the cloak, then the note. Then I thought of the beast whom destroyed the boat.

I had a goal in life.
