Granado Espada

So like, that last time about one and a half months ago, we left off at the Moireas being badly pwned by Dilos Lantern personghostthing.

Well. I pwned him. :3

But that wasn’t after I learnt that they don’t let you do quest ‘instances’ (that’s what GE calls the maps they whisk you off to during fights against NPCs) with your party members. We were all about ready to go, (no, I wasn’t just talking to myself in that SS to the suddenly AFK party members)…

… then we all found ourselves alone, torn cruelly from each other by capricious fate! Gah.

I dashed forwards to meet Dilos Lantern personghostthing head-on, hell if I died. And not surprisingly, my scout and wizard did die.

Here’s the funny part: because of my noobiness, I accidentally forgot to switch out of individual mode and left my fighter behind at the entrance. So while Clotho and Atropos laid lifeless on the cold cold floor, my fighter hung around at the entrance, perfectly safe and sound…

… that is, until Dilly came floating out to the entrance to smack at her.

From that point on, I just hung around at the entrance, waiting for the monsters to come at me one by one, and then killing them off.

Yarghefed, the Blue Screen of Death follows me even into Granado Esapd– oh wait. Just a funky camera angle near the Al Quelt Arcade Entrance.

What happened after I gave Doku a bunch of Vis and ores to NPC, because he said he was low on the moolah. >>; I was kinda creeped out by that response, and it was kinda funny (and a relief) how he never managed to get that hug pose done properly…

Somehow, I managed to have more Vis than Piat and Doku, and I was wondering if I was spending too little or something… Then I realised that I did a whole lot more looting and NPCing than they did. :X

So I finished the quest first, before Piat and Doku, the fellow Squad members, and was thusly motivated to go on and finish a whole bunch of other Boss missions. The godly +6 Rough Katana that my Fighter wielded was a great help in all of them: It has a chance to Stun the victim, and it’s awesomefully easy to spam all the Fighter’s awesomeful skills (2xxx% Dmg, anyone?) on a Stunned boss. ^^

But I hit a bump when I went up against Gracielo, this rNPC with a red impossibly-vertical anime-ish hairstyle. When I simply moved to buff my party with my Scout, he would just start attacking my Scout! She went down really quickly, of course, and without a Scout, the battle was half-lost already.

Well, right there and then, I swore I’d knock his hair off him when I leveled up some more. And that I did, just last Friday. I have no idea why, but my Wizard likes to stand there doing ABSOLUTELY nothing while my Fighter and Scout hammer at Gracielo. But yeah, it was just a matter of tanking his damage while spamming Mastery Level’d Strikeback, Violent Shooting Star and Gladiator’s Bane at him.
No screenshot of the victory though, I think I hit the Scroll Lock button instead of Printscreen.

You’d do that too, when you’ve done nothing but Maple more than five hours every day for the last five days.

So like, let’s go back about one month ago.

22/6/2007 – So it was the same old story: nothing to do, bored of grinding, then [insert idea lightbulb *ting!*] I had a sudden and insane urge to finish up the Cursed Doll quest on Gastropoda. For SilverFx, I had only bought the dolls to complete the quest, and so I thought that, y’know, it’ll make a change to hunt for them.
Then, Berry asked if I could help him hunt for his dolls as well, and I thought, uh, okay, no problem. ‘Sides, I’m a lvl 72 Ranger. How hard could smacking down a few thousand undead monkeys in their own tree dungeon be?

Very hard and about as boring as grinding, actually. >>; I didn’t have Arrow Rain then, and I was still at the mercy of minimal range limitations, so it was basically the same story as the Hunt for the State-held Rice.
I don’t know why I thought it would be otherwise.

Luckily, I was sharing a tree with this nice Cleric person, LordWiN, who I noticed wasn’t picking up his drops, so I ran up and down the tree after clearing my spot, looting after him and getting a whole lot of Cursed Dolls. He noticed, of course, and asked if I was collecting them.

And then he drops about 400 or 600 of them for me. I famed him in return (which obviously surprised him, because he asked, ‘wat for?’, lmao) and yay, I didn’t have to stay that long in that accursed tree.

24/6/2007 – bluestar95 goes on a hiatus from Maplestory to concentrate on her PSLE aka the major MAJOR exams for Primary School kids. As a farewell gesture, she was stalking everyone online on her BL and guess who was first on the list? ^^

She told me that I was free to remove her from the BL, but I don’t think I’ll do that, even if I really really need BL space now. :X I still only have my original twenty slots. I couldn’t imagine what people would do with fifty slots, but now that I’m starting to be a regular at The forest of Golem and making quite a number of friends that I want to keep in touch with, I’m starting to get an idea. :/

24/6/2007 – Smega-spam, and by the GMs too, no less.
I thought it really amusing to see how GMAMapleLeaf gets so concerned over the Maplers’ state of academic affairs. Of course, there are those incidents where a GM banned people on their request because they wanted to do their homework *cough*PirateJing?*cough*, so yeah.
I still find it amusing, nonetheless.

28/6/2007 – More GM Spammage over the Smega. [/cheap amusement]

28/6/2007 – The Birthday events were on, of course, and I went about rather happily oblivious about it. I did log in on every available character to do that Grendel and the Attendance Book quest, and got a few Devils’ scroll at the end of the events.

However, listening to Eona and the guildies talk/whine/gloat about their successes and/or failures about the Birthday Present quests, I decided to try my luck.

None of those presents yielded a bandana, btw. None of them. >>;
Whatever. Those bandanas are fugly anyway. >O

28/6/2007 – Keep away from the Fenny! HE SPAMS.

28/6/2007 – Level 73! Whereupon I promptly add all skillpoints available to unlock Arrow Rain, an action that I have not regretted the slightest bit. ^^

Just another sweet moment I want to remember. That’s Punk speaking, and goodness knows he didn’t get off with the guild smoothly at first. But now he’s an Incendiarian for life, or so he pledges. He has declared me funny and immature, so I don’t know how flattered I should be.

5/7/2007 – They had the x2 EXP and x2 Drop events going on, so instead of training Silver, I made my brother drag muwhaha the Cleric down to Shanghai with me. We had a vague idea of just exploring the land, but we ended up with a very definite direction of finishing all the quests we could do there.

My baby snail queen pwn’d by the ebil ‘Shanghai worm’, as Tomi (aka Xx3vil5inxX) calls it. I was not prepared and had my speed equips on instead of my fighting one. >>; Of course, I pwned it back! >O

We also discovered (belatedly, as it seems, because EVERYONE ELSE knew about it already) the bug in the place that causes all Shanghai monsters to drop the drops of Zipangu Yakuza Leader B. So, whilst training on the Oxen there, I managed to gather a few Nimble Wristguards, a couple of Skull Shields, a Red Arten, a White Anakamoon, a Red Chloro and even a Magical Bow of Destruction, along with hundreds of Leader B’s Charm.
Those Charms of that Leader B did leave us speechless, the first time we encountered it. [/lame pun]

But hey, good money was screaming to be made, and thusly I spent all of my subsequent x2 Drop slots there. :3

The funny MapleSEA exclusive event outfit that was created in honour of MapleSEA’s second anniversary. I only like the Slime Staff, honestly. The mushroom head is just too… *shudders*

13/7/2007 – GPQ! Ya must be sick to death of hearing about them, but hey, my guild hardly ever does a GPQ, and I haven’t done a complete run with them. >>;

So like, Eona called me up on the mobile to ask me to get online, since we had a 15x F/P Mage with us this run and we could have a try at Ergoth/orwhateversitnameEggbroth? After a really really long wait, we finally got a (very risky) seven member party and registered.

TYVM.

The first time I’ve seen my guild get past this stage without needing to try again. Recalling our very first and very frustrating GPQ, I’d say it’s a real big improvement.

I kinda just went into a comatose state for the next two stages, because I wasn’t the least bit useful in them. I can’t JQ, and I have lost my skillz for Mastermind. Sh0tz had to go, since we were taking such a long time to finish the JQ Rooms.

But just as we got the combination for the Mastermind bit, someone DC-ed and we got kicked out since we had less than six members left in the GPQ.

Pffbt.

The F/P Mage threw a brief hissy fit (‘FK, waste of TIME!’) and everyone else had to go to bed, being 12am+ as it was. :/

And that was the end of it, whee.

15/7/2007 – Berry summoned me to the FM once I logged in, and we were just there, happily chatting and examining his (yes, his.) latest scrolling successes when this came.

So like, what, we were transparent? Did the room look empty to them? >>; *mumbles*

One other unpleasant thing was when we were just fooling around with our equip setup, Berry dropped a Magician shoe for fun. To my surprise and chagrin, he shoe got promptly vacced up to the top left corner of the map, where this shifty noob xiaogas had been hanging around for the last fifteen minutes or so.

Berry said it was okay (‘lol, that vac program so fast’), though I still felt upset about it; it was more for the fact that it was a hacker and that it had attacked my friend than anything else. I failed to report that dude too, even after he returned to the scene of the crime ten minutes later. :/

15/7/2007 – The Grind to Level Up continues. Arrow Rain isn’t too strong right now, but it was useful (especially with Criticals~) and fun to spam. :3

Then I stalked Wolfrage in the FM where he was doing some transfers from his mule. He complimented me on the smexeh lvl 7x armour (and yes, that ‘Montreux’ is in my old guild. It’s the secondary character of the leader turned mule. Messy relationships, ya?)

And he has this many Event Trophies. -__-

16/7/2007 – The date of the start of my incarceration in the forest of Golem. *mockitymock at the silly uncapitalised ‘f’ because it still makes me smirk even now*

Also, the Art Bug struck again, in my boredom, and I have decided to terrorise everyone with eyes with this and this.
The first is that of Silver, Gastropoda, and Gemina, my very own Maplestory Trinity, eheh.
The second is on the request of KWSN, and next to him is Brittles, his friend. If you don’t get the joke, er. I have no idea why I drew it that way either, but it had to do with some forum thread KWSN showed me that said ‘Something Scary… Brit in a dress!’, haha.
