I figured this was a good place to say once and for all: I’m sapphire8, this is my new MMOid. Yeah. Anyways, onto the actual blog… this is a random poem I came up with while reading about unique “fun” builds.

Imperfections

The ‘perfect’ souls
The ones who boast 4/4 dice rolls
The dexless sins
The clerics, all identical twins
The perfect builds
Cookie-cutters fill entire guilds
The funded ones
Whose every equip is worth tons…

Where’s the fun?
All these builds have all been done.
Where’s the shine?
Is my character truly mine?
It’s so cliché.
Is there even any point to play?

I say yes.
If you’d only just care less.

Fighters with eleven INT
Can survive as well as those that didn’t.
Mages who use Bolt
Have no reason to revolt.
For in the end,
It matters not who you transcend.
If you have fun,
It matters not if you’re outdone.

Still, there’s only but a few
Who’ll say, “Screw.”
“Who cares what we do.”
So kudos to you:

The permabeginners
The HP warriors
The strength clerics
The samurai (luk) warriors
The PKB (melee) bowmen
And other builds that even I haven’t heard of.

…okay, so perhaps
Your stats don’t warrant ALL CAPS
Maybe they just
Could do with some slight adjust.
But that’s fine too.
Imperfections are what make you, you.
Just do what you like to do.

  3. Ahhh, so true. People always trying to outdo each other. It’s one of the reasons I couldn’t using my sin.

    “Wat stars y thro?”
    “Wat att WG?”
    “LOL U NO HAV WG?”

    “MY GIG PWNS URS LOLOLOL”

    And so on. >.> In terms of builds, I’ve made an Ranger and a Sniper. The Ranger had the perfect 4/4 roll, double shot build, and no final attack. The Sniper had like, a 5/6 roll, arrow blow build, and final attack. And at the end of it all, I can safely say, there was no difference.

  4. yeah for me, perfect chars take too much concentraion and effort. why work so hard making sure ur not a bit off

    then instead do what u like and have fun1! ppl freak out if even one stat is off

  5. I’m reading this poem and enjoying it much
    persuades me to write a poem, so i must
    it’s a bit simple really, with a rhyme here and there
    no particular theme, still i really don’t care
    as i press on these keys, as i do usually
    this time comes a poem, as i type “cruise-ily”

    (Although, if I posted this on sapphire8, and hadn’t posted that other blog, I might’ve gotten a welcome or two >.> from those who didn’ know me anyways)

    By the way, sorry about generalizing you dexlesses and clerics out there XD it was there, so I used it.
    And sorry for the bad rhymes in some places. I wrote this at like 11, and didn’t feel like thinking, so I just abused Rhymezone…

    The rhythm /seemed/ to run off a little bit at some points, but I couldn’t quite put my finger on which bits. :X
    But that’s cool.
