Multiple Chars, Multiple Levels.

**NOW EDITED FOR MORE STUFF**

I decided to take a week off since I was getting severely overstressed, so now that I have this week off, I’ve been playing Flyff obsessively. I haven’t been able to play this game or anything else in a month.

Most people are upset by the way skills are in the v.7 update. I rather like it. I don’t like how little sxp high-levels get, but oh well. We hardly get exp as well. But I like the fact that I can choose what skills to train and what ones to “just get to the bare minimum so I can get to the next skill”. And it’s a whole lot easier than standing there, staring vapidly into space whilst holding down a hotkey. Yes I was a legit skill spammer, lol. I was always at my keyboard. Consequently my skills never got spammed so much, cos I would get bored very quickly XD.

But skills that take ages to level (pulling, fast walker for acros; pan barrier for mercs) now only take a few clicks. Nice eh? I think so (^__^)~

I got my little bow acro to lvl 26 yesterday. He’d been hanging around lvl 20 for half a year. Haha that’s pretty bad. I just never had any incentive to level him. But with the help of new quests and the new skill system, I was able to gain him 6 levels in one day, yesterday. Sweet.

I finally got my assist to lvl 20. The friend that wanted me to wait for him hasn’t been round in months, so whatever, and I was tired of playing mages and acros for the day. My mage I gained one level, so she’s now 47.

The only way I can see the new skill system hurting anyone is if you’re a full-int full-support assist. You have to depend on others totally to get you the sxp and the exp to level up. Kinda sucky. That’s why my rm-to-be can fight. I made sure of it when I started making her. I don’t always like to rely on people in MMOs for anything. It’s okay sometimes, but not all the time.

A really strange thing happened when I was playing my mage. She got a toma (drop from a leyena) from a small steamwalker! I was like, hmm, okay… lol. Maybe the steamwalker went over to the leyenas and swallowed it. Or someone killed a leyena near the steamwalkers and the steamwalker swallowed it. Yes, monsters -do- steal drops. I’ve had it happen to me millions of times. It’s usually when they stand there going “!” lol. They stand over a pile of stuff and “!”, and when they move, something’s gone.

And now, to make this blog even longer (just kidding) I’m going to say what I remember from the first open beta of Flyff. Feel free to join in with what you remember or if you think I forgot something. (^__^)b

– When places in Flaris/SaintMorning/Darkon didn’t have names, or the floaty text to tell you the name.

– When Valin trained mercenaries, and all the other lost and lonely npcs trained their classes (Rooney was for assists, Mule was for mages. acros weren’t invented yet)

– When acros weren’t invented, but everyone was excited about them once they heard about them. Then on the night after the update, there were tons running around. I even had to make one. Then we discovered that jesters kinda sucked, and rangers sucked a little less. But we still played them, cos it was different.

– When the broken bridge was still broken. Some of you newer Flyffers may remember this, as it’s something they “fixed” in v.7. I loved that bridge but hated it when I was a newbie. I’d get so distracted by laughing at all the other newbs that fell down, I’d almost always end up falling down myself. And whenever a nyang or fefern was chasing me, I’d just run to the safety of the bridge, watching the monster fall down the hole as it tried to chase me across and couldn’t jump. Good times, good times. (^__^)v

– Neidn or Neidan, however you want to spell it. Oh poor Helena, that was the love of her life and they took him out of game. It was kinda creepy to see the old sage there among the flybats, but at least you could stand by him and the aggros wouldn’t touch you.

– Scenario quests, plug +2 quests… I really looked forward to those, especially the plug +2. That really gave me the incentive to get a few chars to lvl 43. And the scenario quest made me some much-needed penya. (ToT) I’m going to miss them, even though the new quests do give money, and apparently you can get a plug +2 as a drop now (from what I do not know…).

– When aibatts/lower lvl monsters had aggros. You newbs have it too easy now. But oh well.

– When the first job quest didn’t require you to collect all this “useless” stuff like twinklestones and chupim and whatnot. Maybe that’s why the devs did it, these items weren’t being used enough in game.

– When all you had to do was kill grownup lawolf for these beads for the first jobquest, and you were faced with 20 other players all doing the same quest as you. It was every vagrant for himself, as people scrambled trying to kill them in a very slow spawn. Woe unto you if you even touched someone else’s lawolf!

– When Lawolf was the -only- server, and when we finally got the pk server and Kebaras Island.

– When Lawolf lagged so horribly (I believe it still does, but I don’t play there anymore) that the gm’s had to restart the servers every 30mins or so.

– When there was only one GM, and his name was Chris. He was awesome, and sometimes he’d come to Flaris and talk to us newbs, or he’d be in SaintMorning in the duel arena, talking to people. And people would ask him for buffs relentlessly.

– The Giant Ploxing of DOOM event. That was the most fun I’d ever had in Flyff. It was great.

– Random spawnings of Clockworks somewhere by the GM, and we had to fight (er, I mean, go get massacred by) it. Also, random monster spawnings in town to do the same thing with.

edited to add:

– Buying fashion accessories from the npcs. I still have the star hairband, mushroom hat, and butterfly/iron masks on characters in Lawolf. And before you ask, NO, they are not for sale!

– Something I added down in the comments: when assists could heal and buff monsters. Didn’t like the noob you thought ks’ed you? (fyi, there is no ks’ing in this game, unlike MapleStory. if you think you’re being ks’ed in Flyff, go play this game for a few hours) Then heal the monster til the kid dies! Buff it so it lasts longer than him or her! Enjoy the evil, buahaha.

– Something someone else mentioned: collectors and “catchers”. Oh how I miss those. Need some extra cash? Just go kill an eronscatcher and suck up the minerals and sell them to players, or to the shop npcs. And I had my favourite one, that I named Bob. He was the MineCatcher over on Death Island (near SaintMorning). He was so ugly, he was cute. I used to train my spells on him as a mage, and also had him follow me everywhere. Do you know how hard it is for other people to kill tombstonebearers with this big huge MineCatcher in the way? (big evil grin) … but ya other people did it to me too so… (shrugs).

– When you could talk to npcs from your broom or board. This made it alot easier to play, I wish they hadn’t taken that feature away. You could do quests quicker if you could stay on your board, and plus aggros wouldn’t touch you if your npc was in a higher-leveled place.

Well, I think I’m done for now, LOL. (^__^)

  1. I know a few:

-When mages use to be able to Blink Pool inside CW quest place.

-Collectors are no longer available. Both the monster and Item. T_T they are only “collector” able

    -Pk in jail XD

-When did players have to start cross-gender playing to get cheaper set items o_o?

-When did people realize that a BJ was possible in flyff -_-?

-When did people realize the joke BJ O_O?

-Will anyone ever come out and say the joke BJ ^_^;?

-Getting NOTHING for a Job change. You only changed jobs and you were on your own from then on. Now you get pimp CS items. Silly V7,

-Lastly, I’m going to miss afk spammers. As a once acro, I leveled my snitch on this knight outside of darkon spamming their ax mastery /smite ax, i dunno, anyways it was major grinding for me.

Lol ya, I remember all those too now that you mentioned them. And I forgot something else: remember when assists could buff and heal monsters? Buahaha, fun times! (is evil)

  4. When assists could heal monsters. *sighs*

My friend said that was the absolute worst part of FlyFF, mainly cause I was always with him and I always screwed him over.

And back when you could get heck a lot of quests to do. I want that back. D:”

Ditto. But I seriously don’t know where to get that first flying quest. >:O

  7. Silver: I miss the quests too. Alot of them were great money-makers or gave great items.

Fenrir: The first flying quest has been removed. It wasn’t really needed anyway, cos at level 20 you can automatically fly. (^__^) . . . the only thing that quest was useful for was getting a free broom, but it’s slower than the cheapest broom in the game so it’s easier to just save up for one.

Darkwar: Flyff doesn’t suck, you should try it. (^__^)b
