I’ve been wondering about this for a while. What gives you the idea of your username? I’m not sure how to explain it but, like for example, why I chose this name Repty.

Hmm, I invented this name (meaning No copying) mainly because I hate putting numbers into my username, for no apparent reason. I play Bioncle (Sp?) and I kind of created something and for reasons I can’t seem to remember, I created this name, Repty. And since the word ‘Repty’ is too short for emails, I added a ‘Dino’ behind.

Err the first picture is a picture of ‘Repty’ and yeah, thanks for reading this and all.

So back to the main point, why did you chose that username?

  1. My MMOTales name comes from the Mario character Koopa Troopa. He’s once or twice referred to as “The KT.” Since I can’t have a space, it’s TheKT. I use that a lot on different things.

    My character name, Erk77 comes from the magician Erk from Fire Emblem, but “Erk” was too short, and since I needed another thing, I figured I’d use my favorite number. That looked weird, so another 7 was added.

    My level 9 bandit is named Uryvva. He was my character in the beta who was level 25. I made the name up.

    KeinariKoopa is my level 25 Warrior. Probably gonna be a two handed axeman, if I ever play it much again. Keinari is Japanese for “promotion of a knight” or “knight.” Koopa is again from Koopa Troopa.

    Well, as I child, I was obsessed with the Lunar festivals of China (I’m Chinese) Mostly because mooncakes are DARN SMEXY.

  3. Allamar is the name of a country in my made-up world. As is Nairen. Allamar is a secretive, foresty, closed-off and rather hostile nation, which was transferred straight across to Allamar’s personality.

    Indescane is a shortened form of ‘Incandescant’, because Indescane is the happy, sensible one in my little imagined cult. And the brightest (in terms of personality), too.

    Shedemai is. . .I’m not quite sure, I like the sound of it. It gives an implication of protection and femininity at the same time, to me. Shedemai is a warrior, and she’s very defensive of her friends, so that works too.

    Veritene is a corrupted version of the French word for truth, ‘verité’, and she’s the straightforward, cool one. There’s something amazingly straightforward about a crossbow bolt to the head.

  5. abeno. from the anime/manga magical shopping arcade: abenobashi.

    junkai. jun, as in june, the month i was born in(also june is the 6th month). and kai, for the ninja hand sign, meaning the promonition of danger.
    hence 6 times the premonition of danger. most people think i got the name from dragonball or bleach, but i dont see any connections other than “kai”

    I’ve been called Serenimo, Squidg(sp) and Besy before.

    Serenimo is from my friend being weird. So is the second one, Ezyan. *glares*

    Besy is because I act like this girl that goes by the name Besy, and my friends knew her.

    It very simple really. Well, not really. But any South Asian would get it.
    I am from India, and i speak a Language called Gujarati.
    People refer to Gujarati people as “Gujju”
    Hence the name Gujju ♥

    My ex-boyfriend and I were linked by a fascination of the color Indigo. Love just made it “cuter.”
    Kind of irrelevant now that I dumped him. Really should change the name.

    “in fieri” and “in esse” are Latin phrases for “in becoming” and “in existence” respectively.

    Zyn: a vampire from the series Shattered Light [it’s really cool, you should chk it out]
    Tazira: a mrem (human-cat genetically modified cross) from the same series

    GarudaPFlame is an idea I got from another show. Original name is Garuda Phoenix Flame.

  19. For my xhalmic13, his name comes from some imaginary place that is dark and evil and anyway so i put a 13 behind since 13 is “supposed ” to be unlucky or evil. For HasteHack,Haste is the speed skill as you all know and i love this skill, i put the hack behind as an action liek cutting/slashing.For my new character, ArcaneRyuk, it’s like this. Ryuk is the nickname the God of Death gives himself in the comic/anime/movie called ‘Death Note’. Arcane is a from of magic and since ‘magic’ is too common, i used arcane!

  21. quang13- Thats my first name. I added “13” because i started mmotales last year (13 is my age last year)

    Pyracross- I got the “pyra” from the word “Fira”, which is a fire spell in final fantasy. I anded the “cross” because i thought of those red crosses crusaders have, therefore i named myself: Pyracross!

    JackieQuang: “Quang” is my origin name, i chose “jackie” in front, because my hero is jackie chan, therefore i name myself “JackieQuang”. Some people call me like that.

  25. OOOO. NAMES! ‘A rose by any other name stinks just as much, Capulet’, as the people in my alternative Shakespearen world love to say.

    SilverFx was because I wanted SilverFox, but someone already taken it, and I thought SilverFx sounds just as cool, kind of like Silver Effects (SFX). Also, there’s allusions to the Silver F(x), which is unsolvable, by the way, insofar as it exists at all. And ‘X’ is a spiffy letter.

    Anyway. SilverFx stuck, and it became increasingly cooler as my huntress grew, so it became my Maple alias in general. ^^ I was hoping to get a SG carplate that starts with SFX, but by the time I get the money to buy a car, the car license plates will probably be in the Q’s. T_T

    Gastropoda: because I was so amused by my Bio Olympiad training lecture, it stuck. I mean, who can resist calling a Maple character a snail?

    I’ve got many other names too, but yeah. Those are my main Maple characters.

    ~Aliyah Royal —–> That’s my name.
    ~CandiesXD ——> well. it’s my permanoob character and i needed something cute.
    ~ForestNypmh —–> i was in a lame mood and my character looked like a tree to me, literally.
    ~LadyTamyra —–> Tamyra is and has been my “middle” name for sooooooo long. it’s not actually my middle name, but sort of has been accepted as that. and btw, it’s Tyra for short.
    ~missmimmsi ——-> real middle name: mimmi. apparently someone had miss mimmi and miss mimmSi, kind of just flowed together. now the name sounds like a nasal sound to me and i don’t like it much, but hey-! it’s my main character.
    ~OhEmGeeeeee ——> couldn’t think of a name at the time. “rush-created” her for the purpose of a mule, but then grew attached.
    ~RedTomatoes —–> i like tomatoes? and it’s a fire mage to be, so go figure.

  28. Rew is the nickname I got back in grade 6 in my gifted class. . . I was doing a project with. . . A person I shall not name. . . And I wrote his name, and mine like:
    (his name) and (my name)
    But I forgot the “and” so it was:
    (his name) And rew (The space was because I suck at writing XD)
    It just stuck.

    Mizutsu was my friend’s Bandit that he gave to me at lvl 27, I invented the name (As far as I know)
    Mirew (My friend’s sister’s character, but I use it most of the time) is a mix between “Miz” and “Rew”

  29. Well, I’ve always liked Irish names, so “Roisin” is from “Roisin Dubh” or the Dark Rose. I also like roses, and my middle name is Rose. :3

    As for my MMO characters (I’m not going to do every one, just the ones that mean the most), Roisin was my first MS char but I deleted her and let a friend remake her, as I was getting too many stalkers. XD

    Lain (Rappelz, elsewhere) or LainTheWired (MS [Scania]) or LainOfTheWired (Flyff, some forums) is from Serial Experiments: Lain. I love the anime and the character so much.

    Gacchan (Rappelz, Flyff, MS [Scania, I think, can’t remember the pwd to that account anyway]) was for a very dear friend whom I loved very much. His memory lives on through my characters.

    Feanor (Flyff, Rappelz) is from J. R. R. Tolkien’s The Silmarillion. I role-play him elsewhere, in an actual Lord of the Rings rpg, and have been playing him for years.

  30. Mr Lumpy is just something inspired from Captain Underpants.
    Namely one book where theres a key that you use to make your own stupid name.
    Somehow, I found myself laughing at the word “Lumpy”.
    I also like cheesy, stupid names- like:

    McDingus

    Any name with the word cheese in it is cool as well. So I made this clan in another game with a friend called “Gods of Cheese”

    My useless Character in Scania, RomeVane (mage), Her name comes from two places. Rome (which is were my great grand parents were barried and the city I want to live.) And Vane, it came from thinking of my current boyfriend at the time *two years ago*. He would call me Vane, just to call me it because he thought it was cute.

    My Second Character in Bera, Aaru. At first I didn’t really think about it. I wanted to use ‘aura’ but it didn’t come to my attention that it was a typo. So I was just stuck with Aaru. Then later did I know that it was the Japanese word for Reedfields. >.< Go figures. But I like it a lot.

    My Third Character in Bera, Chijiku. Chijiku is actually a name from a semi-popular RPG called Suikoden (1,2,3, and 4) Long Story short, Chijiku means, in the game, the axis star (an earth star) it’s hard to explain.

    My fourth Character in Bera, HeartSkythe. A quick job of making a mule -_-;; Well, a friend of mine has his character as DoomSkythe (or in my story D.Skythe) And well, I just added Heart to make it sound pretty.

    My Fifth Character in Broa, (remind me to go back on broa soon), Lariah. Boy this was hard. Lol. First I had wanted Tariah, but it was taken. Then Kariah, but it sounded to cheesy. So I picked Lariah. I don’t know why really. It sounds French to me. So it kind of got stuck to me.

  35. Mandos. One of the Valar in the Silmarillon by J.R.R. Tolkien *Salut!* FOr the uninitated, think of them as the stewards of the world, governing it in place of Eru, the One. The Keeper of the Houses of the Dead, and the summoner of the spirits of the slain. He forgets nothing; and he knows all things that shall be. The Doomsman of the Valar, he pronounces his dooms and judgement only at the bidding of Manwe, the chief.

    He has the darkest personality of the Valar, save for dear old Melkor, which was a bit too cliche to use for an assasin. So, I picked Mandos.

  37. I got Hokutochan from a manga “Tokyo Babylon”. Hokuto is the twin sister of the leader of the Sumeragi clan, a group of omnyoji (masters of ying-yang), and she sacrificed her life to save her brother with a spell that changes destinies (cool ). Yuukohime, hime=princess and Yuuko is a character from “XXXholic”. She is a powerful and mysterious witch who loves sake (I like vodka, ) and chocolates (love em too), who trades wishes for one’s most treasured thing (thou in the manga this things are reffered as souls).

    Both mangas were made by CLAMP. (Im a CLAMP junkie )

  40. Well, I agree I don’t like random numbers either, but I just relate my name to something I found interesting or that I like from my Social Life.

  42. Ezyan was something random I pulled when all the options I wanted were taken in Maple. But actually, I always liked having something unusual in my name (z, y) and Yan is my half of my middle name. Ez is also a really cute nickname. I dunno, really; I just typed some random letters and was like: “Hey, I like this!” so I chose it.

    AuroraWind is something I use elsewhere on other sites. Aurora has always been a favourite word/name of mine, and if you’ve played The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time you’ll remember there are three goddesses and their respective attacks; Nayru’s Love, Din’s Fire and Faraoh’s Wind (sorry if I’ve spelt Faraoh wrong; it’s been a while since I played ). I tried to centre the second part of my name around one of those things, and chose Wind (air) because it’s my favourite element (along with ice ). Originally it was going to be AurorasWind, but I hated the idea of not having an apostrophe between a and s, so I cut out the s.
