Chapter 3: Battle of Healing

Rebbecca
Spear held in front, she charged. Startled faces met clean, white door as Rebecca closed each as she ran by. The bandit held up is wristguard in defense, his Gephart behind his back. He started to run, a maniacal look in his eyes, wristguard pointed in front. Both charging. Over the life of a boy who thought he had nothing.

Elizabeth
She looked into Falerix’s eyes as he argued with his sister. Cached words included ‘message’ and ‘Thiri’, but she couldn’t understand a thing. She looked at their eyes, they both looked the same. Determination mixed in with a bit of loneliness. She giggled to herself. IN less then 3 hours she had grown a liking for a boy. Who would have thought.

Rebbecca
They met in the middle of the corridor. Rebbecca implanted her spear into the side wall and swung up. Instinctively the bandit slid under and shoved his Gephart into the ground, propelling him up. Rebbecca swung all the way around and kicked him in the back as him .

Julian
COW-BONG!

He stuck his dagger in the soft cement to stop himself from flying further. She started to run on the side of the wall, her spear scraping the other wall, used as leverage.

‘Dam, this chick is good.’ he thought, panting. He pulled his dagger back, a faint yellow circle covering him.

‘Closer, closer…’

Right as she brought her spear up in an attack, Julian shot his dagger forward with centrifugal force. Rebbecca tried to counter with a Slash Blast, but could not stop the 2 last attacks of the onslaught. Her shoulders flew back, bleeding. She stumbled, Julian seeing another opening, shot another Savage Blow. Rebbecca ducked, and floor-swiped his feet. He tripped, she stabbed downwards in a Power Strike but missed as he rolled away. Julian clasped both hands while rolling. A small blue circle encircled him. She threw her spear like a javelin, the red light-stream illuminating the walls. Eyes watched through the doors as Julian sidestepped and it grazed his arm, planting into the wall behind him. Rebbecca ran after it and executed a sliding kick, Julian jumped over and threw a single Mokbi at her head. Missed completely, it made a soft clang as it hit the floor. He was never good at accuracy. At the other end of the corridor, Rebecca pulled out her spear and twirled around, standing in defensive position. They were back where they started.
All of a sudden, the door behind Rebbecca opened, and a patient launched himself at Julian. He ducked, his arm attacking his brain with pain. The patient bounced off the opposite wall and launched himself again, an orange blur. He struck Julian right in the back, the same area where Rebbecca had kicked him. Slightly wheezing, he back-flipped and flew through the broken window from where he crashed in, yelling “I’ll get you both! Don’t forget!”

Rebbecca
She ran towards the window as Julian went through. Stopping, she saw him disappear. Turning slowly, she saw Ishuno smile weakly, and crumple onto the scarred floor.

Falerix
“That’s two doors now…” Falerix said as Emily ran out of the house, crushing the door under her.

“I should get going too. Is your store gonna be okay?” Elizabeth said, her hair ruffling in the wind blown through the open door.

“Yea, it’ll be fine. You gonna be okay? You got everything?” Falerix asked, putting on his boots.

She equipped her hat, smiled and proceeded to the taxi, waving back at him. He watched her go, not wanting it. There was this new feeling in his body, like never before. He couldn’t explain it.
He smiled. Now that all of that is over, back to business.

What was that explosion all about?
