Well, not quite so much Leafre, but other patch related goodness.
Anyhoo… congrats to Radjehuty (pic 1) for making it to Arch Mage! Now I don’t have to listen to you wait for the patch anymore. :3 Also, thank you to the people who pointed out that I had to turn on the HP bars. Durh. XD They don’t work as well as I’d hoped they would for Squids, but they’re still a nice addition.
Saw a priest with their Bahamut while heading to NLC for a quest I couldn’t locate. (pic 2) While waiting for the train, a sniper spent a great deal of effort saying their pig mount was better than the priest’s Bahamut. Whatever, at least the dragon’s cute. (As an aside, did anyone else have the Event quest “Eat This!” show up? I couldn’t find Edmund, and it seems to be related to the fireplaces, but I already have the Omni key…)
There seems to have been a great deal of other little things that were done with the patch. Maps have been changed, or at least flipped over… In Mu Lung, Mr. Do has shown up, so you can do his quest now. I haven’t found Captain Hwang in Herb Town yet, though. Lower level monsters now also drop green apples, which are good for 30mp healing. There are probably other things, but I haven’t been back much to Vic and Ludi yet to properly explore.
The weird portals that have been showing up here and there in the game finally have usage too. Magic seeds in Leafre (which cost the same 30k as a boat ticket) will allow you to warp to the portal north of Ellinia. I’m not sure how else they’re connected, but it sure beats waiting for the boats!
Last night I got bored and created a noob character on Mardia. Now, I’m not sure if the changes I observed were new to this patch, or if they were done since I created my I/L wizard a few months back. Either way, quite a bit of stuff has been added on Maple Island. A handful of new quests have been implemented (pic 3), and a few Victoria Island monsters are now appearing on Maple Island. Pigs, slimes, and stumps can all now be found amongst the usual snails and mushies of Maple Island. This makes things a bit more dangerous than they used to be, but a little more fun for the Islanders, I guess. The new quests aren’t that hard, and the extra potions you get from them are a nice touch. They do, however, make things for magicians-to-be a little bit harder, since it can be difficult to get all of the quests done by level 8. Either way, the additions are nice.
And, to tie things back in to the LEAFRE theme…. on the weird birdboat ride to Leafre, you can climb around on the front of the big blue bird. (pic 4) It’s fun. You should give it a try sometime.
Happy Mapling!
Where can you use the magic seed to take you back to ellinia? And is it possible to get from Ellinia to Leafre?
Whenever someone says something about their Bahamut, I always think of the Final Fantasy aeon. It makes me wanna make a cleric.
The stumps, pigs, and slimes are new. And very annoying. I tried to make a new character the other day and kept on dying. :/
And, ipod, the seeds are used on the map that leads from Ellinia to Perion (the first one right from ellinia using the upper portal). On the top of that map, there’s the magical glowing tree stump, and that’s the seed portal.
Pixie maps have been redone.
They. Pwn. For 50-70. Now.
Can someone say, unpopulated V/H equivalent?
(No, the monsters aren’t equivalent, but the training is.)
Lord Pirate has been dramatically weakened. Just FYI.
I’m not sure if that deserves a thumbs up or thumbs down.
There is a portal at the left side of Leafre, like two portals ahead. You can get the magic seeds by Chief Tatamo.
And yes, you can also enter even if you’re from Ellinia. I’ve tried it and it worked. You should look for the portal
at the edge of the minimap. Just go to the portal where it all leads you to perion and you find the portal in Map 1. :3
lol imagine my horror when i only had 2 quests left on my 5 str magician to be and all these nw quersts popped up -.-;;
