I grabbed my Korean Fan tightly. Helen was right behind me. We were hiding behind a large boulder that was right in front of the entrance to the cavern. I slowly walked out from behind the safety of the boulder and peered into the cage. David was on the ground bound by ropes. Kyle was in the middle of the cave drawing strange symbols onto the stone floor. I readied to dash toward David. I took my first step but froze. A red, gleaming blade was pressed toward my throat.

“Mark..” I whispered.

“Don’t move Dan.” He ordered.

“Like I’ll listen to you!” I shouted ducking under the blade. I whipped out the spikes on my Korean Fan and slashed at him. He quickly jumped back dodging the attack. He held the blade with both hands and dashed toward me. I raised my Pan Lid. It caught the edge of his blade. I sharply jerked my shield to the right causing his blade to lunge toward the empty space beside me. I shot my dagger forward toward his heart.

My dagger fell to the ground. My ribs burned. He had caught the side of my chest with his blade. He quickly pulled his blade back. Blood splashed onto the ground. I grabbed my sid and fell to my knees.

I clenched my teeth as Mark raised his blade above my head. Helen quickly Raised her wand into the air. An electric field surrounded her hand as a bolt of lightning rained down upon Mark. He raised his shield deflecting the blast. He dashed toward Helen and shoved her against the wall. She let out a small cry as her body collided with the wall.

I tried to stand but Mark re-focused his attention on me and kicked me in the spot he had cut open. I screamed in pain as I fell to the ground. He pressed down on Helen neck as she fell unconscious. He let her go as she collapsed on to the floor.

I struggled to get up as I gripped my Korean Fan but Mark kicked me in my side again. I fell onto the ground breathing heavily. He came upon me. He rested his foot on my side. It burned with pain. I tried to get up but he sharply pressed his foot down onto my side. Pain exploded throughout my body as he slowly started to press down harder.

I screamed sharply as blood gushed out of my side. He slowly released his foot. I breathed heavily. My whole body was shaking as I saw what he was doing, He had risen his foot over my side clearly about to step down on…..hard.

“Stop it.”

Mark’s foot froze. A crossbow was aimed at the back of his head.

“Thanks Shadow.” I said weakly slipping into unconsciousness.

~~~~~~~~~~~~*Mark’s point of view*~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

“Shadow you better watch out where you point that thing.” I warned gripping my Red Katana.

“Don’t worry. I know exactly where I’m pointing it.” He replied.

I quickly ducked under his crossbow and slashed him across his chest. He fell backward onto the ground his hand letting go of his crossbow. I sheathed my sword.

I placed all three unconscious bodies over my shoulder. I walked back into the cave. I dumped them all by David. I bound them all with rope and took their weapons. I made a small pile of their weapons at the other side of the cavern.

“Master. I have disarmed all of them.” I said bowing to Kyle.

“Good job.” Kyle said finishing the last of the symbols. “Now to just set everything up.” He stabbed three wooden poles into the ground forming a triangle. He tied each Crystal Soul to each pole.

“Bring it in.” He commanded.

“Yes master.” I ran toward the farthest end of the cavern. I shoved a boulder aside revealing a small ditch. I reached down grabbing onto the metal cage. I slowly pulled it out. Soon no one will have to feel death.

~~~~~~~~~~~*David’s point of view*~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I slowly opened my eyes to find myself bound by ropes. I tried to struggle but to no avail. I slowly got to my knees as to get a better understanding of what was going on. The others were bound by ropes like me but they were unconscious. I turned my attention to the center of the cave. Kyle was performing some kind of ritual. Mark was walking toward Kyle carrying a metal cage. I couldn’t tell what was inside but I could tell it was alive by its howls.

“So you’re awake.” Kyle said walking toward me.

“Why didn’t you kill me?” I asked as he stood in front of me. He crouched down so we were at eye level.

“Well. I want the pleasure of killing you.” He whispered. D*mn psycho.

“But if you’re that eager to die don’t worry. We’re just about done with the preparations. Just want to make sure everything is perfect.” He said walking back to the center of the cavern.

“So what the h*ll is all this crap for?” I called out. If I buy more time it’ll give us a better chance to escape.

He pulled out a book. He opened up to a page that had a bookmark in it.

“ ‘ We have just found all three Crystal Souls. They contain high amounts of energy stored in them. If only we can find a way to fuse their powers together. We would be unstoppable. ’ “ He flipped through the book until he came across another page. “ ‘ We have found out a way to fuse them together. You just transfer all the energy into a Lucida. But the Lucida must be strong enough to withstand the energy released. Another thing you will need three human sacrifices. Although it was hard to find three people willingly to sacrifice themselves we came across another problem after creating the ultimate Crystal Soul…’”

He closed the book shut.

“That’s where it cuts off. But not before showing diagrams on how to fuse the Crystal Souls.” Kyle said throwing the book aside. “So that’s what I’m aiming for. Anyway now for the sacrifices. “ He said. He grabbed the unconscious Shadow and started to drag him to one of the poles.

“Leave him alone!” I shouted. He just grinned and ignored me.

“Mark. Bring that other guy you found outside the cave.” Kyle commanded. I saw Mark starting to drag Matt toward another one of the poles.

“LEAVE THEM ALONE! WHY CAN’T YOU TAKE ME INSTEAD?!?!?!” I screamed.

“Remember? I have to kill you personally. “He said walking back towards me to take another person. He slowly stretched his hand out toward Helen. Although my legs were bound, too I somehow jumped in front of Helen.

“Back off.” I warned.

“Master, maybe we should use another person instead of the girl.” Mark interjected looking a little worried.

“Are you defying me?” Kyle asked amused by the sudden outburst.

“No master. It’s just that we shouldn’t hurt women and children.” Mark quickly explained.

“I see. Fine I will agree to your wish. Then is this ok?” He quickly used Avenger and hurled the huge star at Mark. It struck him across the chest as he fell to the ground.

“But Master…..Our dream….” Mark whispered weakly.

“Insolent fool. You think I would stop death? What would be the point of life without death. What else would give me the thrill that killing has to offer?” Kyle asked.

“Monster!” I shouted.

He just smirked and dragged Mark toward the last pole.

“At last it is complete.” Kyle said satisfyingly.
