Cadvan sat under the blazing sun, while he thought carefully about his difficult situation. He didn’t want to leave his only home, but the thought of adventuring appealed to him. After some very careful thinking, he decided to go, but seeing as he was the only person left living in his family, he had everything to gain, and nothing to lose.

That same day, Cadvan packed all his remaining belongings into his backpack and check the note again noticing that before it didn’t tell him where to go. Swiftly becoming nervous that he spent all his time packing and thinking, he desperate inspected the crinkled note carefully examining all the creases and words written on it. Aha! He yelled as he saw the small print.

“Hold on to this paper and touch your fruit knife.”

Cadvan remembered his fruit knife and quickly grabbed it. At the moment, the piece of paper glowed a mystical green and started tugging at Cadvan. He was pulled though the thicket of plants and came out into a clearing a bit tattered, but still in one piece. As he put the glistening piece of paper on the ground, he heard an arrow twang through the air. Instantaneously he climbed a tree and hid there to see what happened. Before he realised what was happening, an archer walked towards his piece of paper on the ground.

“Oh no, I left the paper on the ground” he thought.

Devising a plan quickly, he decided to throw his fruit knife. The fruit knife came down with dead accuracy and split though the middle of the archer’s skull. The archer did not know what hit him. A scream of pain reverberated through the forest as Cadvan jumped down, happy of what he did. He leapt out of the tall tree and retrieved his piece of paper and his fruit knife. Instantly, he was jerked forward, the paper glowing once again and was dragged towards the general direction of Henesys.

Silently, he thought in his head, why am I going to Henesys? With another jerky movement he was moved up towards Kerning. After waiting for another few minutes full of swift movements, he reached Kerning.

The paper dragged him to a very dark alleyway with no doors visible. A voice echoed through the air:

“We are expecting you.”

“Wwwhhhooo Aaarrre Yyyyyooou?” stuttered Cadvan.

“I am your new guild master, aka Guild Member X. To enter, you must fold the paper into the shape of a dagger, and throw it with precise accuracy at the glowing red mark on the wall. If this is done properly, the paper will disintegrate and you will have access to this place forever. If done incorrectly, you will be forced into a training centre in which you must endure 30 years in until your aim is perfected.”

“I understand.”
Cadvan folded the paper carefully into a dagger shape a practiced with a stone at the red glow. After he thought he perfected his shot he threw his paper dagger…

And it . . .
