The Spear Of Hope: Chapter 3

The Arrival

Crocher awoke in a village on top of a cliff. A piece of paper lay on his stomach:

“Oh yeah! You may want to go see Dances with Barlog, before, you know, you get yourself killed.”
~The Villagers~

“Hey kid! What do you think you’re doing?” said a man who had been watching Crocher since he woke up.
“Excuse me sir, but I’m looking for a guy named “Dances with Barlog. Is he around?” asked Crocher.
“Yeah he is, in fact, HE’S ME!” said the man, and with that the man burst out laughing.
Crocher stood up. “Look man, I don’t have time for your lame jokes. I need you to tell me where the Spear Of Hope is, and I need you to tell me now!” he said growing a little frustrated. Dances with Barlog glared at Crocher for, what seemed like a long time.
” Ah so you must be the new Spearman I was told about.” he replied calmly.
“Well….Yeah I guess you can say that” said Crocher.
“I will tell you where the Spear is…after I train you” said Dances with Barlog. “Follow me, we will start right away.”

Crocher followed Dances with Barlog up a hill which leads to a big rock building. When they got there Crocher braced him self for anything.
” Alright boy! Let’s start with what you know. You know, a practice duel” said Dances with Barlog.

Crocher ran towards Dances with Barlog, “I can see where his heart is!” Crocher thought. He pointed his sword towards Dances with Barlogs chest. Suddenly as if Dances with Barlog never moved, Crocher fell to his knees.

Ariel woke up in a village in a forest. “So this is Victoria Island….Where’s Crocher anyway?
A old man in a white robe and hat floated over to her.
“You look lost, might I help you with something?” He said.
“Yeah I’m looking for The Spear Of Hope, think you can help me?” she replied.
“Oh! You must be the new Cleric! Ok,I think I can help you. Follow me.” the man said as he floated away.

Ariel followed the man into a library. “My name is Grendel by the way. And I’ll be your trainer till you can find your own way.” He said. “Let start with what you know. Come at me”

Ariel ran towards Grendel and pointed her sword at his head. She closed her eyes as she stabbed him. Ariel opened her eyes. Grendel was not there. “Where is he? she thought. She slowly turned around. And, there he was, Grendel with his staff raised over her head.
” Good night” he said.
“Good night? What do you mean go-” Grendel knocked her out with the end of his staff.

Back at Maple Island, Crocher’s mother was looking in his room for a piece of paper to write on.
“Ugh, there’s never paper when you need it the most” she cried. As she looked under his pillow she noticed, a bag full of mesos.
If his mesos are here that means he doesn’t….. she thought. “Uh-oh we have a serious problem.” she exclaimed.
