Chapter 2, Jed’s first mission
Jed was at home, being bored.Like Nick and all the other recruits, Jed had been sent home for a month, awaiting his first mission mail and the date for the collection of his equipment.He went doen to the gate of his Terrace House to check his mailbox.To his surprise, he found an envelope with his name on it.He ripped open the envelope and found a piece of paper in it.It wrote:Kerning City Ministry of Manpower.Jed threw it over his gate in disgust.He looked down at his mailbox one more time and saw a smaller envelope, this time with the Victorian Forces Army symbol on it.He tore open the envelope and saw the date of collecting his weapon and uniform.His eyes shone and he went into the house and did a little tap dance.

On the day of the collection, Jed and all the other privates turned up at the main army base to collect.About twenty minutes later, Jed walked out, disappointed. He was wearing a cool blue uniform, yes, but his weapon was the “stupid gun” and his mission was to stand guard beside the aeroplane going to orbis.Not that he was required, there were about a dozen turrets hanging from the wings.Nick wasn’t with him as he had chosen the demolitions, they had to know how to plants a bomb, disarm a bomb, set mines and get rid of mines.However, the Ray guy was supposed to stand beside him.

At the Ellinia Airport, which was beside Ellinia Station, Ray and Jed were standing beside an airplane.It was taking off without anything happening and Jed was started dancing a tap dance again.As they prepared to go back to the base, Jed noticed a man putting a suitcase that was in perfect condition into a bin.As he pulled the suitcase out, it burst open and a metal box-like thing dropped out.It had red numbers counting down…It was a bomb! He had to find a bomb disarmer fast! As Jed looked around, Nick appeared out of a corner and Jed dragged him to the bomb.”Wha- what’s up buddy, why so tense?” When he saw the bomb, he started screaming hysterically.”OMG A DAMN BOMB AAHHHHH GET RID OF IT GET RID OF IT THROW IT AWAY!!!” Then, he suddenly remembered he was an explosives expert so he calmed down and pulled out some pliers. Go catch the bastard who did this buddy go get him, I’ll disarm this piece of scrap metal, then I’ll sell it as scrap metal.”

Jed ran towards the direction where the man went, he saw the man being paid by someone from out of the car and he yelled “FREEZE!!” The man reacted quickly.He pulled something out of his pocket and threw it on the floor.The air started filling with smoke and Jed said,” Oh no you don’t you bad boy” and ran through the smoke. He emerged the other end seeing the man walking into the trees of Ellinia. He crept silently after the man, and after turning a corner, he yelled FREEZE again. The man raised his hands and turned around, pulling out a pistol faster than the eye could see. 3 energy bolts flew over his head. “Darn” thought Jed. ” Those are energy pistols, and their Pwnage Brand, they pwn all! They even auto-reload.” He loaded his own weapon and jumped out of the trees firing wildly. None of the bullets hit the man.However, one of them hit the gun directly on the power source, rendering it useless.The man cursed, but swiftly pulled out a little throwing knife, which he throwed at Jed.

After dodging 21 knives, Jed was tired. He had a plan, but it was risky…

Another knife flew past his his ear but Jed charged forward, screaming like a demon. “FEEL THE DARK SIDE’S POWER!!!”howled Jed as he threw himself at the man and start bashing his head with the gun. After around ten seconds of hitting, the man got pissed and stood up. Jed swore and retreated. As he got his back against a tree, the man was about to stab him with one of the knives. Jed closed his eyes…

Bang~

A shot was fired somewhere. The man fell on the ground and started groaning. Behind him around 100 metres away, a smirking Ray with a smoking “stupid gun” looked at Jed. “Ah, little nooblet, you would have got yourself killed” shouted Ray. With the one line, he stalked off. Jed got up and kicked the groaning form of the man, then dragged him by the foot all the way to the Ellinian Headquarters.
