A Hero’s Struggle ~Ch. 2~

[h]Author’s Thoughts[/h]
Hello MMO-pplzerzerzsnickersbarlalalalalala!

I have come from the distant land of Weekend-ville to release another chapter!
Lol, could have had this done one day right after the last chapter but for some reason I almost barely ever work on the weekends!
So. . . . .Are you ready?

I re-wrote this chapter a little, I learned that I shouldn’t just put random action scenes in because they’re pointless so yeah! Actually this is pretty short after I edited it a little. I used a couple of semi-colons so if any writers could help me
out and tell me if I used them correctly and well then that would be great!

Note: For readers of the previous series, I’m just gonna say read all of them because all of them will be different in writing but some might have different material in them also! So if you wanna know what’s going on you should read!

So, there it is. . .I’m just gonna hurry up and paste this before I keep on talking and say a lot of other random stuff!

[h]Chapter 2: A Chase of Changes[/h]

Four days had elapsed since the assassination attempt involving snails, which had been altered to kill. The questions ”Why does somebody or something want to get rid off me?” and “Could there be others. . . like me?” had stuck around in my head. But at the moment, I was worried about being trampled by the green tear-drop shape creatures that were hot on my trail.

The confounding fight a few days ago had concluded in a disappointing draw. The slimes had silently snuck up on me, appearing suddenly from where the land had split from forest to a lusciously beautiful and revealing plain. The few enemies had formed a round barrier around me in mere seconds. Commencing with only a couple of slimes opposing me, the ambush had unbelievably gone in the opposite direction which I had thought impossible; the number of them had doubled. I had used only my flailing fists to defend myself and soon the fight had grown into an unfair battle as they split themselves asexually.

Even before that, I had found myself in a tomb of mud encompassing my body beside a wall of gravel. A headache had been shrieking in my head like a never ending siren gone out of control. From that point, I had broken out of the mud trap and had rested a while before advancing on.

Presently, I found myself heading away from a swarm of green relentlessly chasing me. The headache still screeched in my head, like a wolf howling at the moon, but instead of being miles away it was like the noise was right beside me. Why haven’t these things given up yet? Don’t they have to sleep?

The blue sky was empty of any clouds and the sun had a straight path to the dirt floor. A disadvantage to me was that the sun shot a constant ray of heat at me, inducing gallons of sweat to slue down my face. While the sun weakened me, it looked to power the slimes. However, by luckiness, I discovered a weapon of indirect attack by accident, and it was like a guardian keeping me alive. Rocks were my instruments of terror. The slimes despised the objects, presents of the earth, and proceeded around them, not daring to stray near.

I was growing tired of this foolish pursuit lasting for days. At some moments a brief decision of stopping and battling it out would scoot across my mind, but I always chose against the idea.. My brain explained to me that the slimes would overtake me eventually wether from lack of strength or if they actually did manage to catch up. The stubborn side of my mentality convinced me that I shouldn’t quit, that I still wanted to live and inhale the sweet whiffs of life.

Carelessly, I stumbled and my leg sunk into a red body of water. My foot had entered into a narrow creek flowing out of an inconsiderable crack in the earth. From this gap in the ground came a gushing current of red water and it slid down a path it had created. I pulled my leg out of the body of water and shook it recklessly around in the air, trying to dry it off. I noticed that from my ankle and below, that the layers of dirt had gone away, having joined the drops that had been flicked into the air. Glancing over my shoulder, I saw the slimes a distance well of from my position. Looks like I got some time to rest.

I took a seat on the dank earth, soaking the bottom of my cotton shorts, that were masked by filth. The rushing water released a pleasant and peaceful noise into the atmosphere that calmed me and brought a presence of a warm aura to the rest stop. Dipping my hands into the water, I connected them together to form a bowl and scooped up the cold water from the stream. I tossed it in my face really quickly before it slipped through the breaches in my fingers. The water hit my face and my senses jolted in bewilderment, refreshed by the liquid cooling it down. Forming a container with my hands again, I trapped as much water as I could in it and lifted the drink to my lips, allowing the water to infiltrate into my mouth. Three more bowls of water followed and the feeling of it dropping down through my throat felt wondrous. I felt like the wonderful gifts of life were being bestowed upon me and my mind translated that emotion into a thought that went Water Rules! The water had woken me up and restored strength, making me feel like I could go on and outlast a bit longer.

I took one last look into the unusual color of water and saw a reflection duplicating my face. On the visible surface a boy’s face stared back at me, on it’s face was a look of mixed expressions. The fake twin had a tough, dirt-ridden face with eyes that shown with boldness and sparkled with determination. Dark, brown hair hid part of my dark black eyes. The eyes were the color of night, and one would not know what to think if they peered into them, fear or approval.

Picking up my head because of a startling sound I had heard, I viewed that the horde was almost to the miniature river. Tossing up some rocks into a pile and creating a poorly made wall, I hastily got up to leave the area as soon as I was content with my structure, that was built in order to slow down my chasers. A fierce energy was ignited in my body by the new fuel, the chilly water, that was shooting through my blood and in moments I was off once again.

I was running towards no destination, no goal accept to escape from these pursuers, and I also had nothing to stop me. I would test my limits to travel the farthest, possible span, hoping that I would never have to confront these unholy beings. My mind seemed to be far off somewhere, and my wishes were doing all my thinking for me now, desiring for things to continue on forever as they were because of my fear of these slimy devil’s offsprings.

My eyes shifted up to reveal an amazing sight in front of them. Looming far ahead, tall giant life forms created a roof over the world. The plants were spread around and occupying a majority of the land ahead of my eyeshot, their trunks rising from numerous spots in the ground. They had branches with beautiful, majestic leaves grouped together to make a breathless image of a forest. The massive trees, seeming like gleaming gateways in my mind, coaxed me in to the astonishing timberland, and I obeyed as their gripping beauty convinced me to descend into the zone.

Coming into the woods I noticed it seemed different than it had from afar. Now that I was actually in the forest, I immediately observed some wonderful characteristics it possessed. The sun beamed in through gaps in the canopy, making the land glow. It felt warm, with a windy breeze that swept through the entirety of the forest.

Taking a peek behind my back I saw, with fear surging into me, that some of the slimes had adventured across the red stripe of water. Their bodies became spotted with red blotches, the only characteristic that was notable on them now since their green color seemed to mix in with the shade of the environment. Just what I need, an army of red and pissed off slimes chasing after me.

Running with a more serious intent of escaping, I overcame annoying obstacles spread across my path. But there was another type of impediment that was developing and stealing more power from me. It was concealed in my head, and was throbbing with more intensity as I performed maneuvers to get past obstructions. A vast space of green was also appearing, expanding and bouncing along behind me. The group of green now marched with more ferocity, every couple of seconds doubling its numbers by ripping their genes apart into two forms. As their number became more stellar, so did the amount of fear I was undergoing.

With a quick pace, I kept my momentum going as trees rushed at me and I was trying to avoid them. The tormenting pain in my head was becoming more unbearable, but at the same time it seemed to be helping me, providing more power to me, as if it was acquiring the product to keep the anguish in my head from ripping out.

A brisk turn then switched my straightforward path to another direction. I had made a split second choice after I had glimpsed a dash of grey out of the corner of my eye. The slimes halted their pace a tiny bit as they had all been completely consternated by the sudden evasive tactic, and now turned their mass slowly in a confused bundle to start after me again.

Through the obscureness of the tall wood shapes, I could vaguely distinguish a difference in the environment, but one color stuck out against the uniformity of the green and brown colors. I fled to the white and greyish place. As anticipated, the slimes didn’t falter to trail behind me. The blazing discomfort in my head became more intense as I drew closer to the incomprehensible shapes standing ahead of a sinking, orange skyline.

Soon, under my feet, the terrain morphed into a white color and became harder than the soft ground of dirt. As my feet touched upon this pavement, I was amazed by how no dust particles flung into the air and also confused by the strange square patterns of it.

My nose then flattened itself into a barrier I had not recognized for I had been dazedly staring at the floor. Whipping my eyes back up and tearing them away from the ground, the pair of circles now perceived what had been the source of my collision. A wall of grey, cracked bricks, turned that way from ages of being there, now became evident to me. The stacked bricks created only part of a building; the other bricks were lying on the ground and damaged. It seemed like some manifest terror had recklessly struck down the building and ruined all its glory. Duplicates of the destroyed building could be seen farther on, some more miniature and others that were risen a little higher. It appeared like the victims of some terror had once been upright and had prospered as a wondrous city, but now the deformed buildings lay in the hands of the dead.

In my stupor, I had wiped the recollection of being hunted by slimes completely out of my mind. I looked back in bewildered fear, expecting the worst. Two surprises came my way next. The first was my shock at how the slimes had gathered around the area were the land divided from dirt into brick walkway, but had not inched a centimeter past the grassy area.

The second astoundment burst out from behind the wall. Before I even turned around a switch seemed to activate in my cerebrum. My muscles tensed, my vision sharpened, and my agility quickened. Fear flushed itself out of my body and then I was finally ready to act. After mere milliseconds, my foot had shot firmly on to the ground and I pivoted off the point. Arcing around, I released my fist into the air and blocked a pouncing monster from taking me down. The fist dug into the body from the incredible motion and an effect of a shower of a white gooey-like substance commenced as the figure burst into bits.

Then another monster snuck out from behind the wall, its features fairly simple, a green shell covering a white round body. I leapt over the remains of the dead enemy and I kicked the wall with my foot, causing a fresh barrage of bricks to add to the ones on the ground already and killing the green mush as the rocks came tumbling down onto it.

During the ambush, the slimes had crowded around in a circle, creating a ring with no exits that encompassed me. Why are they not attacking I thought.Wait, I got it, the floor equals rock! Or wait, does sandwich equal rock? My thinking was getting hard to read amidst the pounding bashes of the throbbing headache, which were now beating with more excruciating pain, causing me great discomfort.

I watched in fright as more mushes slid from behind walls; the number of them seemed too much for me to handle. The army slowly ushered me backwards as they kept pouring at me, emerging from behind the ancient walls. S***! If they push me onto the grass, I’m done for. My eyes popped open with more height as an idea hit me and implementing the first step I ran towards a wall of stone, bursting through a mush opposing my way. Stupidity and courage motioned through my body, flowing readily with the quickly pumping blood.

Leaping into the gang of green-sombrero wearing monsters, I pounced on one’s head. Vaulting off it’s head I landed on another and rebounded off. The mushes became befuddled and frantically started shuffling around. The path of my jump took me high onto the top of a ruptured wall.

As expected, my plan went smoothly, the impact of my feet made parts of the wall bust and shoot out into random directions. My feet started dancing around, struggling to keep balanced on top of the wall. I wish I knew how to do the cha-cha right now! The wall side tilted forward as the crazy rampaging group of mushes kept hitting the bottom of it. The support suddenly broke and the wall flung itself forward, and I came steadily down with it, knowing that this would happen. I dived out from the collapsing wall as it mashed into the multitude of creatures around it. Great billows of dust rushed into the air and the descending wall violently smashed the creatures under it into the ground. A bunch of cracks and crunches were heard as the fallen wall vanquished my enemies. Gobs of blood came gushing out from underneath the wall and spread out all around it, marking their deaths.

A little of the pain inside my head vanished the instant the mushes became squashed, yet I still felt a weak force skimming around. Examining the damage, a flashing object caught my eye. Walking up to the wall, which now was a huge heap of undeterminable things, I kneeled down and locked my eyes on the item laying beside the broken wall.

My hands extended toward it, and then grasped the thing. A slight, surprising jolt made me drop the object hurriedly. An electrifying current rushed through my body and ended it’s journey at my brain. I reached for it again, this time expecting the jolt and determined to hold the reward. It didn’t shock me again but I paid no attention. The round orb-shaped object shined a sapphire color, the sun intensifying it’s glow. I pocketed the round ball, unwillingly taking my gaze from it.

A different agenda now surrounded me, literally. How am I going to get out of this circlet of slimes all around me? I felt as though I was on an island and couldn’t swim. Innumerable slimes seemed to form a green ocean of figures bobbing up and down, almost imitating waves. Just as I started brainstorming a way to get out, a sudden earthquake rocked the land, solving my problem. The sea of green parted as the slimes went wild with intense horror striking them. The group individuals started bumping into others in a disorderly attempt to flee, and after a while they cleared the area, leaving me free to break away from the patch of grey pavement I sat on. The short quake had dumped fear into my heart too, also having poured in a little mystery causing me to think that something gruesome had just awoken; the immediate return of a horrible head ache led my impressions even further.

  1. The details and descriptions overwhelm the plot so I don’t really get what’s going on, other than the slimes are chasing you. There are some bits of grammatical errors and misuse of words (“except”, not “accept&quot. Other than that, I would say this is definitely an improvement on the last.
