Chapter 6 – Intertwining Paths

I ran towards the Eos Tower with huffing almost out of breath. I could hear Night’s heavy footsteps behind me, and his eager laugh. I jumped high and landed on my feet gracefully and grinned proudly.

“Beat you!” I laughed as Night came racing from behind.

“Lol, so it seems that you are faster than I, milady.” He bowed taking my hand in his and kissing it gently.

Malfoy appeared from the portal to hand us a sheet of paper. We stared at it seeing what our task was.

“All right you two. It seems that my boss, Marce, needs a Sin and a Cleric for cleaning out that tower up there. Unfortunaly, I cannot attend this matter. So Ppop and Night, you both shall go. By the way, you have 4 party members waiting for you, so DON’T BE LATE!” Malfoy scoffed as she walked back in the tower. “Pop, i took the liberty of adding you to my comm., check your’s if my name is on there will you? Same goes for you Night.”

As we checked for her name, we enter in the eos tower to see if we could find the party. A voice came from above as a Sin, an Archer, an Ice mage, and another Sin, jumped down to greet us.

“Hiy-” The higher leveled Sin spoke but then stopped. “Onee-chan?!”

“Nii-san?!” I gasped as the Sin stared at me in utter shock.

“Ppop-chan!!!” He hugged me tight and cried happily. “Its been far too long!!”

I hugged him back and grinned. It was my older brother, HermitDoji. We went our seprate ways, before i met Neo. He had grown into a lvl 49 Sin, wearing a marine shadow and an icarus cape. He bowed to me then stared at Night.

“Who is this Onee-chan? A friend?” Hermit raised his eyebrow protectively as Night bowed.

“I am NightSalker, Ppop’s boyfriend. You may call me Night in short.”

Hermit eased his faced and smiled, “Pleasure to meet you, and if u hurt Pop, i’m going to kill you. Got it?”

Hermit laughed as Night stared in utter shock making me laugh. As we jumped up the little pegs to enter the secluded tower, Night stayed close to me, making sure that nothing bad would happen.

The first room of the tower, was covered in small white rats and big black ones. We easilly killed them as i looked to the archer happily. She and I were the only women in the party so we would rejoice seeing all the guys do the hard work. As we reached towards the fourth room of the odd tower, there was a stillness in the air, one that would make your heart stop.

“Alright, we have to split up here. Marcel told me about this area of the tower, and that 6 dark shadows live within those portals you see below you. Onee-chan, you wouldn’t mind doing the mage portals do you? I heard that 3 out of the 6 hate magic claws.”

“No problem, Nii-san! I’ll go a-” I was cut off by Night speaking.

“I’ll go with her.”

“Night, you can’t. Onee-chan’s the only one whom can vanquish those three. You,King, and I will take the bottom three. As for rogue…”

“I’ll stay with Rogue.” The one called King spoke defensively.

“Fine. Just make sure you don’t die.” Hermit sighed as he jumped down.

Night stared at me worriedly, and I smiled.

“I’ll be fine Night. Just go along and finish that one shadow and meet me in this portal.” I teleported down and stood by the twisted warphole. “Be safe for me Night.”

He bit his lower lip before Night blew me a flying kiss. I entered in the warphole, and saw mass darkness, and only a torch hung in the middle of the room. The air around me felt heavy as I used my esther sheild for light. Suddenly eyes appeared in front of me and a voice rang through out the room.

“ I AM THE SHADOW OF PAIN AND SUFFERING. WHO DARES TO ENTER MY DOMAIN??“

“It is I! A holy cleric sent to purify you!” I stood firmly with no fear.

I spun my wand within my fingers as it twirled, soon i summoned out cat like scratches to attack the beast. After a few moments of fighting, the best vanished and left it a golden ticket. I bent down to pick it up and placed it in my pocket, before i exited the dark room.

“Thats 1 down. Two more.” I whispered.

“Wait Pop!” I heard Night’s voice beneath me. “Wait! Let me come with you!”

As he climbed up the ladder, we entered in the next room, also covered in darkness. Night held my hand as it trembled, and whispered in my ear.

“You ok?”

“I’m a bit scared, the air in here is heavier than the last…”

“Don’t be scared Ppop… I’m here with you.” His comforting voice relaxed me as i walked towards the middle of the room.

Another voice, lighter than the first echoed through the room.

“ I AM THE SHADOW OF CHILDHOOD, WHO DARES TO ENTER MY DOMAIN?!“

“We are! A Sin and a Cleric. We are here to send you back to where you came from, shadow!”

Night ran to where the voice was as i trailed behind, watching every corner. Finally seeing the white, cold eyes of the beast, we vanquished the beast. My last magic claw caused it to drop one more ticket as we saw another couple enter.

The Sin and the Archer stared at us surprised that we took the beast down. Night took the ticket and placed it in his pocket.

“Aw man, looks like we’re too late Rogue!” The Sin spoke to the Archer.

“Look King! Its that Cleric! and that Sin!” Rogue pointed to the both of us.

“Oh hiya, my name is Ppop!” I smiled warmheartedly.

“I’m NightSalker, but just call me Night for short.” Night stuck out his hand to shake the other sin’s.

“I’m KingStarz, but my friends call me King for short.” King grinned in return.

“I’m Roguegirle, or Rogue for short.” The young Archer smiled.

We greeted each other before we heard Hermit’s voice call us. Night waited for the couple to leave the room ,so he could talk to me in privacy.

“Pop, i have something i need to tell you. I have to go back to Orbis…” He held my hand softly.

“What? But that means… Will you return?”

He held me close as he wrapped his strong arms around me, nuzzling his face in my hair. I laid my head on his chest as he sighed deeply.

“It might take awhile… but I will see you again…” He looked at me and caressed his hand on my cheek.

“Night… then i will wait.” I smiled gently.

“Pop, i’m going to save up for you. I’ll buy you a something that you can ever believe.” He leaned his face towards mine.

“Night… i… i love you.” I sighed before he took me in another passionate kiss.

This kiss felt as if the world stopped only for us. As our lips met, i wrapped my arms around his neck, as his arm pulled me closer to him. We broke away, silently as we exited the dark room, little did we know… every step we took, we were being watched. By a silent shadow, more powerful than we’d meet ever before.
