Chapter 4- The Corrupt Mind

Ppop…. you remember now…. you remember who i am….

When i opened my eyes, the area was dark and vast and i found out that all i wore was my moonlight. Ahead of me was a figure wearing a red starlight. His eyes were blank with no emotion, the arc staff that he held was drenched in a red liquid, as his red guiltian was wore and old. He smiled dangerously, as he took a step forward.

“You are finally going to open that heart of yours….” He laughed evily as i bite my lip scared of his demonily appearance.

“What business do you have with me, NeoZein?” I frowned uncomfortably as he walked forward unafraid.

“What i want… is the pain you hold inside that weak heart of yours. I want my happiness restored! I want you to suffer more so I may be happy!” He held up his staff towards me. “Ice wave!”

I dodged quickly and saw i was unarmed. I ran around dodging his attacks, and once or twice almost getting hit. I panted tiredly and knelt on my knees. I stared into his cold and dark eyes, angrily.

“Time to end this…” He mutter a spell i had never known and raised his staff in the air.

A huge ball of dark energy grew around NeoZein’s hands as i knelt in fear, trembling.

PPOP FIGHT! FIGHT!! YOU HAVE ONE WEAPON THAT HE HATES! USE YOUR HEAL!! HEAL!! USE UR LIGHT ARROW! my courage summoned a thundering voice awakening the power i held inside.

“HOLY ARROW!!!” I screamed with anger as I charged it with my bare hands.

The arrow and the dark matter collided causing a mass explosion, hurling me back one way and NeoZein the other.
I landed on my back, trying to sit up and heal myself. I saw him rise wearly, leaning on his staff.

“It seems that you have gotten strong Pop.” He grinned evily and roughly.

“Shut up Neo!” I growled fiercely at him. “Leave my heart alone! Its MINE AND MINE ALONE!”

“Apparently, its a part of mine… i’m here to take that one piece i want. Your power.”

“Grrr….” I growled with more anger. “Leave now, or I’ll…”

I paused and charged another holy arrow. “Don’t make me kill you.”

In due time Ppop…. In due time… you’ll get that chance…

He faded away in the darkness, as i stood there still holding the arrow. I sighed and fell to the dark floor.

“I will… get you for this Neo… you have my word…”

I saw a light coming from behind me and i turned, to see a red piece. It was crystal like, but shown like a ruby. It was shaped like a heart and melted into my chest. I felt a slight pain as it enter me, shedding tears of pain.

“My… heart…. it… beats…” I groaned slowly as i laid on the cold ground.

“Ppop!!!….” a voice echoed through my ears.

“PPOP!!!!!” it came louder and more worried.

“PPOP!!! DON’T LEAVE US!!! PLEASE DON’T LEAVE US!!!” The voice thunder, and it was Night.

I opened my eyes to find him holding me in his arms crying on my cheek. His soft tears slide down my face as he held me close. Malfoy, was next to him, her face filled with so much worry.

“Night?…. Malfoy?….” I moaned tiredly as the both of them gasped.

“Ppop!!” Night hugged me close and kissed my forehead. “I thought i was going to lose you…”

“Ahem!” Malfoygrl hit his head with her hand. “WE thought WE were going to lose you.” And everytime she said ‘WE’ she smacked him ok the head.

“You were yelling in your sleep, Pop. You were screaming ‘No!! No!!! I won’t let you take my heart!! No Neo!!! NO!’ Malfoy came downstairs to check you out, and it turns out that-” He was cut off my Malfoygrl continuing.

“You were… caught in a mind spell.”

“A what?”

“Its a mind spell, one where you meet someone in your head and you interact with them. I’m guessing it was NeoZein.” She frowned bitterly. “He was your love in the past.”

I shut my eyes and held my breath, “If thats the case, then Neo wants power. Thats odd…. I thought he was…. nice and kind… like in the past before.”

Night and Malfoygrl stared at me shocked. “What do you mean ‘in the past’?”

“I saw my memories, in my mind. I finally opened my heart. I finally found it.” I smiled wearly.

“You mean to say, NeoZein did that mind spell to open your heart?” Night held me closer in his arms.

“I’m guessing the only reason he’d do that is because…” Malfoygrl paused. “He wants power.”

“Tell me something i don’t know.” I pouted rudely.

“You don’t understand Pop, NeoZein… wasn’t bad when you met him… He changed after you locked your heart away.” Malfoy sighed sadly. “You see, he was tainted in dark crafts after you locked your heart away. Before long… he became one of the Darkest Mages in the History of the World… and now…. that your awakened. He’ll… he’ll do everything he can to kill you, so that you will not save him from his ‘new found power’.”

“He’ll have to get through me first.” Night grinned proudly as i giggled silently.

Malfoygrl and I went to the bathroom to find some pain killers for my headache.

“You know… I think Night is the one to open your heart…” Malfoy spoke softly as she rummaged through her medicine.

“Why do you say that?”

“Ppop, tell me all this time, you haven’t blushed at what hes done? The accidental fall or the kiss on the forehead… Come on!”

“Well… i’ll tell you later.” I held a bottle that had big, bolded, red letters that said pain killer. “For now i’m catching some sleep.”

And with that i ran back to my room, nearly tripping on the steps.

“Hmm?”

“Night, what is it? You can tell me anything.”

“Ppop…” He sighed as he walked over to me, gently taking my hand,

“ Will you go out with me? “
