Yeah a few weeks ago I got in a GM Event. It was pretty cool, but the best part was I used perfect planning to get in.

It all started with my friend on my buddy list screaming out, “I GOT IN GM EVENT!!! CH 5!!!” and I was like, “woah gratz man”. He didn’t reply after that, most likely in a hurry to win the event. I rounded up my cleric buddy in case she wanted to get in an event. So we went to channel 5 and waited. Suddenly, that same friend’s MULE yelled, “I GOT IN GM EVENT AGAIN, CH 6!”

I figured out some sort of pattern. Telling my friend to go to channel 7, we waited there. Nobody was there, except for maybe one or two noobs. My cleric friend started to doubt that the GM Event was gonna happen, until in blue writing in the textbox exclaimed, “There will be a GM Event at Lith Harbor in 30 seconds. Please get there to participate.” My friend and I were so lucky! Lots of people started rushing in, and guess who showed up? THE GM! But I didn’t have time to gawk at his awesomeness; I clicked on that ugly NPC with the hat and got in.

The event was Ola Ola, and it was pretty frustrating. I got an event trophy, which was pretty cool, but the sad part was that I LOST! Yes, genius me LOSING! Luckily my cleric buddy won so that’s good for her. Even though I was frustrated, I was pretty happy that I got in an event that only 50 Maplers were allowed in. So that was pretty cool.

The point is: GM Events aren’t all that great. Sure, my buddy got a Gigantic from it, but the insane lag isn’t that great, nor is the stress of having to get somewhere, and get there fast. All in all, they’re okay, but only if you’re willing to wait a while.
