The Ancient Curse. Part 1.

Hey wassup yall! This is my first post, and also the first story in a series. Read on to find out what it’s about.

Epilogue.
Long ago, Kerning City was regarded as a place filled with many joyous memories. It was once a city filled with many peaceful residents. It was a busy city. People would scurry off to and from other towns. It was the town that connected all. Until one day, a young boy was born. His name? Jared. He grew up quickly, earning fame as he terrorized other people for a living as he grew. Stealing old grandmother’s purses, quite pathetic yes, but for him, it was thrilling. He was stealthy, he could dash up to you, and take off with a personal belonging in a flash, leaving nothing but a dead corpse in his path. He was a monster, an assassin.

“Too easy,” he snickered, as he robbed the weapon store of Kerning City. He quickly dashed out of the store and leaped across the buildings. Leaving behind nothing but the life-less bodies of a clerk, he had once again robbed and killed.
“Eh? What’s this?” he had come across a bandit. He kicked the floppy body and the person swung blindly with his dull bladed dagger. He missed. Jared reeled in to kill the person. He pulled his arm back, grabbed some throwing stars, and chucked them at the bandit. The bandit, Scott, had flashed away, leaving nothing, not even a shadow. Jared panicked, but only for a second, as he regained his posture.

“Oh I see,” he smirked. “Hiding, eh? No matter, I’ll find you eventually! Nothing can hide from Jared! Nothi-“

Jared looked down. The bandit, Scott, had slashed him. Scott slashed him again, and again! More slashes and stabs. Jared coughed up splatters of blood. He went on his knees, his eyes wide opened. A deep and hideous gash had appeared on his chest. Blood flowed out profusely. His many other wounds had also started to bleed. In seconds, he had already lost a quarter of his blood. Sweat formed on his forehead, only to drip back down past his eyelids, and onto the pavement. His breathing slowed down. He lost all feeling of his body, and as his arms went numb , he fell face flat on the black grounds of Kerning city, dead. Scott pulled his dagger out of Jared’s blood soaked body. He wiped it with his dirty ragged cape, and dashed off, without a trace.

Since then, Kerning City and its townsfolk regarded assassins and bandits as “monsters” with nothing but evil and a murderous contempt. The town quickly became deserted, for people could not live there with the feeling that the monster Jared might come back. Alas, a prophecy says that one day, twins will be born, an assassin and a bandit. They will grow up and, history will repeat itself.

To be continued.
