Heavy footsteps could be heard very clearly as Rock sped through the street corner of his town, Perion. His axe and his heavy armor buckled his weight down; he stepped on a few snails and dodged a few stumps as he glanced at the sun. He calculated in his mind that the time was around 11:56. He was just on time to meet Darius, his instructor.
“What kept you?” Darius questioned.
“A…errand. Really I was training and forgot about the time…”
Ahh… Good. Training is one of the most important aspects of a sucessful warrior. Do you know why we made you a warrior?”
He weighed the matter thoughtfully before answering: “To kick ass?”
“No. We made you a warrior because you showed promise. We are in a war with our sworn enemies: The mages. They have defiled and burned our land and defiled out relations to kerning city. Our once best allies are now our major enemies. We dont know why they’ve done this, but we need scouts to carry messages to the delegates. We have a thin line between peace and war at this moment… and this line will be crossed at any moment.”
“Hmm… And Im a scout recruit? I dont think you understand… I suck at fighting. I may die at any time… Im even underage to have a weapon…”
“Silly fool, do you honestly think that matters? As long as you can pick up a piece of wood and swing it around, you are an accepted warrior. Now let me ask you this, what do you want to become, and what weapon do you think suits you?”
“I … I dont know what I want to become, but I know what weapon is for me, an axe.”
“And why is that?”
“It just feels right. All other weapons feel clunky and heavy whilst this feels light and sturdy.”
“Okay, axe-man it is.”
A strange and mystical light fell through Rock as his Vigor was amplified, he grew actual strength, and his hands grew large and rough.
“Your first mission is to visit the urban city of kerning and see if you can reason with the politicians, take this scroll to them, and give this set of stars as a gift to them.”
He was handed a large scroll with thousands of words written on them and a signature mark. He also had been given a pouch of 1000 beautiful golden Slivers with a thing silver string flowing out the back end, with the words “Once more.” engraved on them.
“By the way, you’re going to need this.”
A Metal Shield and a one handed battle-axe appeared out of no where on Rocks arms. A set of silver armor replaced his rusty blue plates, and a white bandana flew on his head.
“Go to the left of Perion where the great boars spawn, then meet your fellow scouts. They will be your companions on any missions.”
This was the beginning of something new.

Author’s note:
xP worst chapter ever, waaay too short, the whole war thing is getting incredibly cheesy… but it must set a background for the rest of the story. 😀 I promise the next chapter will be alot deeper. Keep those likes and comments rolling on guys. And the criticizm is really helping. ^_^

No comments. xP
No worries.
I loved it! But pineing warriors against mages! Oh, my god, I may have to steal that idea for my story, since my main character is in love with a mage. That would make it all, dramatic! But I loved it!
Still caught some grammar errors, but overall it’s improved from last time. Speaking of cliches, the warrior versus mage war thing is kind of a cliched story idea too. =P
