Don’t worry, my armor has ignorance resistance 20/- on it.

Last week, battling the usual zombies, I realized I had been to Victoria island once in the past eight levels; that was for the job advancement. I simply hadn’t felt the urge to go. What reason was there? After all, I have a mule in Henesys, two mules in Orbis, and one mule in Ludibrium. Most of my friends spend their time around El Nath or Ludibrium. Meh. There was no urgent need to visit Victoria, but I still considered what the island had to offer.

The lights!
The colors!
Orange slimes!
Pure Lagtasticness!
Random jerks and defamers!
Multitudes of idiots in search of Moses!
…Orange slimes!!!
So, I decided to go to Victoria Island. [1]
———————–
Did I click excitedly on a return scroll, rush up the tower, and charge onto the ship? Did I land safely at Victoria Station, gaze wondrously at Ellinia’s forests, and peer curiously at the orange slimes? Did I dart, dash, and charge to my hometown, Henesys? Did I visit Athena, whose wisdom had guided me through both good times and bad? Did I enter Golem Temples, the Mixed Golems of which were a new sight to me? Did I delve deep into Sleepywood, the most mysterious of all of Victoria’s towns?
No.
I made a new character.
^^”
Broa
It’s been a long time since I was a level one, new to the game and all of its intricacies. I remember creating my account and trying to remember which of the three worlds my friends had told me to join. Being a newbie, every moment was filled with discoveries; learning how to jump, attack and pick up stuff was just the beginning. As I thought about all this, I decided to make this new character on the same world, to see what had changed between the creation of my absolutely first character and this one.
Because I was making a magician, I knew I wanted an in-game name that was:
Loud
Obnoxious
The best lists have three items. [2]
I resolved not to fund him too much; I only gave him a Black Bandana, no mesos whatsoever.
Oh.
And about 7k zombie teeth. [3]
Bellocan ~ lepiat
Ah, Bellocan. The newest world. It’s been said that nobody new to Maple Story starts out on this world; you can ask anyone which world their main is on and get an answer. This seemed a good enough reason as any to join Bellocan: to see how people act when humbled by a new world. Once I went through the intense snail-bashing ritual which is getting to level 10, I finally got off Maple Island, took a taxi to Henesys, and became an archer. Travelling west, I entered Henesys Hunting Grounds 1, and I nearly fell off my chair at the sight. What did I see? No, I did not see silly hackers whacking away at snails. No, I did not see mechanical robots whirring around in circles. Didn’t see any flying blue elephants either (parallelism can kiss my arse). I saw…
One other person.
One other person!
One other person, in the whole map! [4]
It was amazing, to say the least. In related news, I somehow got my hands on a rare/ex Bow of Insane Babbling +1. Scania ~ Iepiat
What can I say about Scania? It was the first world of the official release. It contains many respected “first generation” maplers. It has defeated Zakum many times; it is home to many legit maplers. It is also a focal point for many maplers who began playing on this world, having had the most players. The economy is relatively stable as a far as I can tell, and the value of the meso is not extremely low.
To speak the truth, I think I left my character on the first map. [5]
(What I said was a reference to Men at Arms by Terry Pratchett and a jab at the NPC Heena)
…Damn, those slimes are cool.
~~~~~~~~~~~
So, now I have characters on two other servers, Bellocan and Scania.
Who should I stalk? >=D
AHAHA. Young ladies. I <3 TP, Pratchett can make me crack up even after the tenth time I read his books. But I like Weatherwax and Death the best. ^^
I want you to stalk meee. Or I could stalk you on your SMEXEH Ranger. But I can’t. I’m still a little sore about the fact that Msea-ers can’t crash Global servers. I mean, Global-ers can crash Msea, why not vice versa? Unfairness.
*clicks like* Thou art ignored no more!
Saving: MapleSEA_MSSetup 4%; Estimated time left: 2 hr 53 min
>_< Hmm. What’s this about not being able to crash Global? Dang, how is that regulated?
The Death of Rats (Thief of Time, Reaper Man) has got to be one of the cutest minor characters ever. =)
Terry Pratchett rules.
Rules oh, so much. (VIMES FTW!)
Stalk me, you know you want to. 😀 Shedemai on Scania.
Your blog is cool and rambly and cool and ultimate spiff it speaks of things that are cool and interesting and cool and just really cool and stuff and I think that you somethingsomething should be awesome. I think you deserve these Boots of +5 Spiff to push your Spiffometer into insanely high digits.
O_O three hours just to dl. . . imagine it when you play. Rew says it takes around one minute for everything to update on his side when he plays SEA. 😛
The NX signup says something like ‘Users from Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, China, Taiwan blahblah are kindly requested by the almight Wizet to use the service provided in their region.’ *is miffed* I think Wizet sold all of SEA’s connection thingies to Asiasoft or something, so when the global servers sense a SEA proxy (is it called a proxy? Idk. I ain’t that techno-savvy), they refuse the connection. So I can signup, I just can’t play. >.>
Yeah, the Death of Rats is cute. He appeared in that Maurice and his Amazing Rats book too, I think. That was when I first saw him.
Oh, and speaking of low value of mesos, SEA just got its regular four-hour x2 mesos card. Sighs. What happened to discretionary monetary policies?!
We can?
AWeSOME!
Anyone wanna tell me how?
~~~~Pirkid~~~~
@pirkid: yeah, you can. Just download the Msea client and cheat your way through the Asiasoft registration. It isn’t hard to cheat. 😛 You just have to make sure you get an I/C no. of someone unlikely to play Maple. ^^;
