    Generally and simply, most bloggers blog because they want their stuff read. Nothing screams publicity more than MMO Tales “Recent” column to the left that updates every time someone posts a blog.

    Thats why its attractive to not only MMO bloggers, but normal bloggers and attention-whores as well.

    I like reading the actual posts about actual things
    Fanfiction is so stupid. . . always the same thing
    “OH NOES I LOVE YOU” “OH NOES I LOVE YOU TOO” “AHHHH THE BAD GUY IS GONNA KILL ME” “RAWR ZOMG I BEAT HIM EVEN THOUGH I’M 2 BILLION LEVELS BELOW HIM” “OH YOU’RE SO GREAT” “OH YOU ARE TOO BLAH BLAH” BURN IN HELL~~!1

  6. When I first came here, there were blogs here and there about stupid stuff, but mainly, there were blogs about MMOs and the things done within those MMOs. It was a hell of a lot more interesting to read than some crappily written fanfiction, rant, or life story.

  9. I personally like fanfics. On FF.net, you get like feedback every 1 billion years. Since most people don’t have an interesting MS day, they just don’t write about it.

    Personally, who wants to read a gazillion blogs about attacking monsters. . .ZOMG a hacker. . .yay, my friend trained me. . .sorta crap?
