The year 2006 is coming close to its end. Really close. I mean like, tommaro is the final day.

I look back at the life of the MapleStory character Grimno and I remember how he came to be, the struggles hes went through, the pain, and the gain.

-How it began-

Originally I was playing Runescape. I loved that game. It was free and quick to play! Until around lvl 50 when I decided that running around alot was boring. Around that time my brother’s girlfriend started playing MapleStory. It looked fun, but cheezy. (This was back when like Orbis wasn’t even around…)
Finally at lvl 74 on Runescape I quit and started playing MapleStory. Cause Runescape is boring. All that running and stuff….and that Zezima guy. GOD I HATE ZEZIMA! Thinking hes so much better since hes “Done it all”. Why does he still play? o.o

-The Name-

So my brother put MapleStory onto a C.D. and I installed it onto my Dell. It was done and then I got to the character creation screen. Now, what was the name I was gonna go by?
At first I was gonna be an Assasin named “BlackRose” but since my character was a guy and since the name was taken, I scrapped that.
Then I was gonna be a Warrior named “Agathar”! But the name was taken and after seeing Balrog for the first time while my bro’s Gf was playing, I asked myself “Do I really wanna go toe to toe with THAT?” and I scrapped that too. (I currently am training up a warrior…hes only lvl 19)
So then I heard that Clerics are in high demand right now and are easy to train. So I chose mage. But then came the name….
I thought, Agathar the mage? No…. BlackRose? No…then I remembered my Runescape name. Grimno. Simple, easy to say, perfect. I checked. Noone was using it! (noone ever uses it…) And so it was decided.
Brown Hair, white top, blue jean shorts, sword and the name Grimno. I was ready to play.

-MapleIsland Days-

I was playing around a little at the start, but I picked up pretty quick. Yep. I was a newb. I jumped for joy when I killed my first Orange Mushroom….god I love those mushrooms… I did some quests like most, and got everything I could. I left MapleIsland at lvl 7.

-The path of the Mage-

I made it to Victoria Island and was on my way to Ellinia, and forgot I had to be lvl 8. So I went over and had one HECK of a hard time killing those slimes…I kept dying. I even found out that at a low lvl, a fall from a big height CAN KILL YOU. It had to happen 4 times before it dawned on me. Finally I became a Mage and got my Newb equipment.

-Leveling up-

I headed straight to the Slime tree and spent at least 3 levels there. Killing slimes and stumps, slimes and stumps, slimes….and stumps…I hated it. At around lvl 12 I headed over to PIG BEACH. That place was the definition of boredom. I spent 9 lvls there. NINE LEVELS. And the worst part was EVERYONE hated me. They kept saying “Oh GAWD a Mage. Hes gonna KS us.” and “Ks the MAGE” and of course “Why don’t you head back to Ellinia noob”. And I don’t even wanna tell you how many times I got defamed for no reason. But I didn’t care. I ksed the hell out of them. XD At lvl 20 I headed to Kerning only to come back since I forgot to I had to be lvl 21. So I lvled once more, got all the right equipments, and headed to Kerning.

-Kerning PQ-

Simple. I got into PQS, I lvled to 30, I played around alot. It was a good time. (Back then, Hackers weren’t even known…or around…sad. All it took was 3 months to go from No Hackers, to All Hackers..)

-Grimno the Cleric-

Yes! I did the quest and become an uber cleric! I was happy! I was kicking ass now. So I took the ship to Ludibrium and started killing Pink Teddies with my bros Gf. She was around lvl 46 at this time. At lvl 33 I went down to Eos tower and started killing Black Ratz. Now THAT was boring. All the climbing and falling and attacking. But I managed to get all the way to lvl 35 and started PQing in Ludi.

-The Ludi PQ-

This was where everything in MapleStory went wrong. I got into tons of Pqs, I was lvling faster than a hacker at Coolies. But then, at lvl 40, it happened. Hackers started popping up everywhere. Windia became overpopulated. Noobs became more common. People couldn’t spell Grimno right if their life depended on it. And getting into a Ludi PQ was harder than trying to pick that ingrown chin hair out with your fingers… It was horrible. But noo.. Laura (bros gf) kept leveling like crazy!! By the time I MANAGED to get to lvl 51, she was lvl 68! I got mad, and I headed to Master Chronos to lvl up once. Then I headed to Coolies and have been there ever since…

-Grimno Today-

I’m currently lvl 53 at 25%. I got all my lvl 55 equipment ready, and even have my lvl 60 Dark Seraphis in my inventory. I’m currently looking for a Dark Anakamoon. Laura is now lvl 73 and training her lvl 54 Sin… After I post this I’m gonna go on my Cleric and hopefully get some %…
