I’m not a noob at Runescape, actually I used to have a level 55 and still have a level 77 character but obviously I don’t use him anymore. I’ve played Runescape for a while before I quit and probably put a few hundred hours into my characters put together, which I regret doing. And I hope that by reading this nobody else makes the same mistake.
Runescape is just a useless game. There are no goals you have to achieve in this game unless you count, for example, sitting for hours on end cooking shrimp so that on one glorious day you can upgrade to tuna which you can cook for hours on end instead of your old food in hopes of upgrading to the next one. What fun.
And Runescape takes no skill at all to play it which is why it attracts so many little kids. If you could teach a two year old to use is mouse to click a tree over and over for the rest of his life he could be ranked number 1 in woodcutting. The only factor that differs each player is how much time of their lives they are willing to waste playing the game. Not even the quests are challenging because there is a step-by-step guide for every quest on any Runescape fan site you visit so even little kids can beat them with no problem.
Also saying that Runescape is a free game is mostly a lie. True, there is a free world that you can go in but once you are there for a while (or a maybe a few minutes depending on your brain capacity) you will find out more then 75% of the game is inaccessible to you unless you upgrade to members. Next you might think ‘Hey it’s only $5 a month. That seems fair because I’ll be wasting my life away on this game anyway’. But if you actually took a minute to calculate the cost it is $60. Not that these are the same thing but roughly that is the cost of 3 magazine subscriptions. And also Xbox Live, a service that lets you play any Xbox or Xbox 360 game with people around the world, is $10 less. Starting to feel ripped off?
Runescape’s controls are also poorly set. They make it so that you can play the entire game but just clicking the mouse. Sure you can type to other players if you like to have a conversation with dim witted 8-year-olds. And because of this there are a lot of auto-miners, woodcutters, fishers, etc. They are everywhere and Jagex really couldn’t care less as long as they are making money from members. And if Jagex had put any thought into how simple it would be to make programs like that because everything can be done by clicking, maybe there would be less of them.
Another thing that makes Runescape completely awful is the community. There are so many scammers, auto-players, little kids, jerks (to say it in the nicest way), to name a few. You’ll find out that it is impossible to find an empty mining zone or even an unoccupied rock so it’s hard for new members to get up in a lot of skills. You basically have to be the most powerful person in mining to get your skill up because otherwise your ore will just constantly be stolen by higher levels. And no one in that game is considerate, they only care about the experience they can get and don’t give a second though for newbies that are trying too. And because of that more people start being that way and now if you try and ask someone to stop steal an ore or whatever from you they will say ‘noi wai azzho1e dis bees me r0k u nub c4ike’ and the incorrect spelling is because they are probably 6 or 7 years old and already have no life. This doesn’t just happen with mining I was just using that as an example because this is when it usually happens. But anything that doesn’t have any infinite number of it (monsters, trees, etc) this will happen too.
Another kind of person is a scammer. They try and sell at a high price and buy for almost nothing. It happens to a lot of new members that don’t know the prices of anything and high level members of course try to take advantage of that. It makes perfect sense because anything people in that game can do to make money or exp, they will do. It’s just how a game with poor rule enforcement works.
So if you have never played Runescape before do yourself a favor and don’t play it.
Haha yeah, I tried RuneScape and found that it was the worst game in the world. The graphics are horrid and the PvP system in there sucks. A lvl 60 man can go around and wipe out the beginners there, putting their hours of collecting chicken to waste. I’ve played it for 30 minutes just to realize that anyone can kill anyone regardless of anything. And then when you die, your items drop like a regular monster, This is the same with Conquer. Those two games are completely and utterly stupid.
Actually I thought the PvP system was pretty thought out. But I agree with everything else; The graphics are crap, the Admins dont give a shi7, the community is worse than MS, and the actuall gaming is horrid.
i had the horrid time of being a member ._. the one OK thing about the game was the castle wars
*Hallelujah theme song plays*
*sniff* Thaank you so much for mentioning that!
I mean, why does the player bow down when he dies?
-ShurikenLord of Bera
He is praying that he will never respawn so he won’t have to do boring repetitive tasks for the person controlling him any more.
c1umsyb3ar, U said u played it for 30 minutes well those “30 minutes” happen to be u training. cuz u need to train b4 u start playing.
I used to play, too. Okay, well, first of all, the graphics are horrid. You can barely see, and everything looks like a two-year-old carved it out of stone. And, you could just click everything you see in succession and instantly level. So there.
