The girl next door(poem)

This is another non-maple related poem. SO for all you maple-related hardliners out there, don’t read it.

The girl next door

The girl next door,
her dishevelled hair hung across her face,
Yet something peculiar makes my heart soar.
Faster than before, my heart paced.

Even though she lives next door,
Never did I noticed her presence.
But now, she’s the one I adore.
Her absence kills my essence.

Everyday I just live my life,
lacking courage to ask her out.
In my mind, thoughts of her were rife.
Enough said, I must annihilate my doubt.

I knocked on her door,
And a haggard woman greeted me.
She was not my girl next door.
Politely i asked, “Where is she?”

“Oh, my darling daughter?”
Her face darkened as she told me the truth.
I was ever so regretful, and felt like suciding in a slaughter.
She has left for good, and I’m never going to see my dear Ruth.

Don’t ask me what happened to Ruth. I’ll leave you guys to imagine what happened.
