this is probably because i do well under pressure for english
(i wrote my other 3 page report in one night but alas
i kept it on my mp4 and it dropped out of my pocket. .i got an F -_-)

The Haunting of Freddy

The Haunting of Freddy is an eye-catching book. I first came across it as I began re-choosing an English Festival book.
As I had been scanning the books, my eyes immediately jumped to a deep purple book with what looked like a hamster
creeping in someone’s yard. A closer look and I saw the title and was intrigued. Reading the book jacket and flipping
through the pages, I saw that this book seemed very interesting. Now that I have read the book, I can say that my
first look proved right.
The Haunting of Freddy is about a hamster that starts writing a book called THE LORD OF FERRETS when
his characters unexpectantly come to life! Now the adventure begins as he travels to a haunted castle and has to save
his friends -new and old- from vengeful ghosts. There is also a small side story as Freddy tries to ignore Enrico and
Caruso, guinea pig artistes, who take great fun in over teasing him. There is also the cat that seems to think their overt
teasing is just all in good fun. At the end of the story, Freddy got that cat back!
The story is a very good read and hade me laughing out loud throughout the entire story. There are, at certain times in the story, very chilling parts that were dark and scary. It is a very good mystery and would be a great example of a good kid’s book. It has a big

enough text not to make someone feel like there’s too much text and there are also parts in the story in which certain words or phrases jump out at the reader. In another few pages, there are illustrations that are made scratchily but still somehow fit into the book and how it’s told. It was a very engaging book and the illustrations and jump-out text helped pull me into the story.
The over-all feeling of this book is one that is somewhat light-hearted but still has its dark plot and chilling scenes. The characters are easy to understand mostly and the scenery is well-explained. This book also helps with visualizing the story by having the illustrations at key points. The Haunting of Freddy is very engaging and easy for readers to read. I would recommend this book to many people and also encourage them to read the prequels and sequels.
