Well this is part one of the story, you should read the prologue first or else you probably understand the story. And I’m only 13. . . So don’t expect some great masterpiece. Oh and in the prologue I said that Alex was 13 years old, that was a mistake, he was supposed to be 16. . . Anyways hope you enjoy it. What Lies Beneath Nothing. Chapter1

I awoke with a start, sweat rolling down my forehead. A candle and a simple lighter stood on a dresser right beside me. Slowly I lighted the candle, and looked up. And saw that I wasn’t the only one in my room.

“Argh!” I shouted, it was my best friend Jack who was standing in my room. “What are you doing here? In the dead of night!” Jack replied simply: “Come with me I want to show you something… I think it’s your… your sister” I was shocked, I quickly put on some clothes over my pajamas and mumbled “At least you could’ve knocked” Jack laughed, well it was more like a bark of laughter “Knock? Are you kidding? You could sleep through a tornado and not even notice if you’re house was blown away already!” Well, that was true, I was a heavy sleeper but he didn’t have to rub it in…

We went down the wooden stairs, occasionally skipping a few. As we went down, my eyes fell on a crumpled body, curled up like a cat. I approached the dark figure and turned it around. The color immediately drained from my face. Jack was right, it was my sister. But she supposedly disappeared 3 years ago, along with my parents!

*Flash-Back*

I was 11, my parents and I were in front of the fire, my mother caressing my sister, humming a soft tune. Her voice sounded so soft, as she rocked the baby back and forth. Rain pattered our windows, I couldn’t see anything out. Suddenly, 3 sharp knocks rapped on our front door. I turned my head and looked into my father’s dark brown eyes. They looked tense, as if preparing for something. He rose from his leather sofa, slowly rising to his feet. More knocks… the knocks became into thumps. My father opened the door, and an ocean of water washed over him. I heard whispers and caught a few words “…the warning…given… will strike… leave…before… too late.”

My mother was still humming, but I knew that inside she was tense. My father shut the door, and returned into the living room. All the eyes were on him, even my sister’s. He declared: “The Dark Legion has struck; we must leave this household at once.” My mom quickly stood up and handed the baby. I saw her face, it shimmered with tears. She ran up the stairs, stumbling here and there. My father looked after her, sighing.

*End of Flash-Back*

“Yoo-hoo!” I snapped out of my daydream, and shook my head. “Oh yeah…my sister…right.” I grabbed my sis by her stomach and took her to the fire.

I sat down on the couch and soon I fell asleep.

We sped out through the night the only thing that my father took was his long sword on his back, his stainless Lionheart. My mother held a large bag, supposedly with some clothes and money. We were sort of rich, but it seems all of our riches remained in the house. Waiting to be burned by the Legion. I was getting soaked from the rain. Suddenly, a wave of arrows flew over us, exploding as soon as they touched anything. “Bomb arrows….” My dad muttered. “Keep running!” Soon, thunderbolts struck down on us, incinerating everything it touched. It was over, I thought.
