[h]The Kart’s Legacy[/h]
With the Beta of Global Kart Rider officially closed, I decided to wander into the depths of the origin of Kart Rider…
The Chinese version…
Well, registering was already a big task, and after a painful 2 whole hours of downloading, t’was finally the time to start playing.
Obviously, I passed the tutorial with flying colors. Well, it was just yellow everywhere from the constant nitro using but whatever. It was the same thing as global, except that it was all in, guess what, Chinese!!11!. Couldn’t understand half of it though, so much for that.
After completing a few quests to start my Time Attack rampage to check out all the maps, I was surprised how many different themes the Chinese version had. I looked at all the categories, and was disappointed that some maps were only available to some classes. However, if you compare the categories a beginner can choose from, there’s a huge difference.
Global Kart Rider Themes:
-ZoomTown
-Desert
-Forest
-Ice
Chinese Kart Rider Themes:
-Alien/Outerspace
-Ghost Town
-Volcano Mines
-Rain Forest
-Waterfalls
-Ice Amusement Park
-Mushroom Kingdom
-Desert/Pyramids
-ZoomTown
-Dry Forest
-Ice Kingdom
The comparison is… astounding.
The Alien Theme has many cool objects, in fact, it’s the map with the most bounce into it. ^^; You can use these boost blocks where it increases your speed by a long shot. A long shot indeed… >.>; sometimes, these things make you literally fly~ but once you lose control, you shall plunge into the Alien Canyons, where none has been rumored to ever return.
The whole Egyptian Theme is quite interesting. With the interior of the pyramids designed, there are boosters along the way to help you win the race. They boost your speed like the blocks, but they’re much more controllable, and do not put you in a life threating situation. These speed ramps are best used for moon drifting, or even normal drifts in speed races.
The Waterfall + Mushroom Kingdom + Rain/Normal Forest are pratically the same thing. In this magical theme, cascades are present everywhere, and block your vision for oncoming enemies. However, when you get through, you arrive at a safe zone, known as the rain forest, along with Mother Nature’s wonders.
The adventure I had in Ghost Town was one of the best. Skeletons are wandering the dark streets of this town, and if you’re not careful, they just might drag you down with them! Thank god I had a nitro to rescue myself from it’s deadly crutches before rushing off again. With that theme done, I took a visit to the ice park, it was amazing, I took ride on the ice slide, sadly I don’t have an SS. Imagine Cedar Points, but completely Ice’d. =]
Finally, the volcano mines. I was just dying (pun intended) to take a bath with the lava, but before getting there, I had to fall through the poisonous streams. After facing many perils, I had to enter the abandoned passages, where poisonus spores took ahold of my kart. Alas, I passed without breathing, and entered the volcano realms of wonder. >=D
Also, there are a lot more quests offered, in which you can get tubes of paint, a new character, and lots of Lucci.
My mom is telling me to get off KartRider, so I just closed the screen.
“Moooom, I’m going to study!” *starts up kart rider and continues racing*
“Hehehe, adults these days. Too easy.”
I’m also making a video as I’m racing. ^^ Should accompany another blog soon. I just wish they’d open Global Kart Rider soon. D:
Your blog made me want to tryout Kartrider, something that I ever doubted will happen
But lovely blog
OhEmGee~ That’s so crazy awesome~! I love it. Haha. I want Nexon’s version to get all this stuff when it comes back up.
I doubt we’re gonna get it soon. XP
The Chinese version is at the 2nd year anniversary. And the Global Beta just finished. @!*#
Oh. How disappointing~ (ToT)
The orgin of Kart Rider is the Korean version,
But still, nice blog.
Oh, this is China’s. When I first saw the pictures from the front page, I was like “What they hell, Nexon has more maps than us!?”. Then when I saw the simplified Chinese, then I was like “Ooohhh..”
But still, nice blog.”
Bah, I still think Koreans stole the who popkartz idea from China. D:
Darkwar4ever, if u need me to help you with the chinese words, just tell me. .
