Well, I have been through guild quest at least 3 times. Some very stressful, some very successful.
The first time, there was much confusion of the “follow the statues” thing. That got sorted out in… 60 minutes.
The 2nd stage had yet more confusion, confused with the spears.
The second time there was less confusion, but still some failed tests.
We started to figure out the 2nd stage when we got kicked out.
The third time we zipped through the first stage, and successfully finished the second. The third, however, was a bit more challenging.
Sure, 700 or so damage might not be so bad, but when you have 8 reapers, 4 defense-strong and magic resisting magic, and 4 magic defense-strong and melee resisting magic, not to mention that I was on my lvl 57 sin, it could quickly turn into a pain, when you don’t have a priest, let alone a cleric.
Gathering materials to offer to the statues, it wasn’t long before the reapers started to spawn and attack. Now here’s the thing. If you fail the 7th try, instead of the regular 1 reaper each side, you get a horde that spawns in the middle. You can continue, so long that you didn’t die a most gruesome death (note the word gruesome. Normal deaths will only result in loss of exp and respawn at the second map of the GQ. All you have to do is walk back).
After that mess, we end up in the fourth stage: the waterways.
The waterways is a mess of magic teleportation transporting devices in each opening, with few exceptions for those that lead to a room. I ended up entering the gargoyle room. A mess it was, sadly.
A gargoyle resides at the top of a structure, impossible to reach in any close-range combat. He spawns lesser gargoyles, and drops anchor-like things that do up to 1k damage each. The only way to attack him at any rate is to head to a top structure. The problem: no ladders. No problem for me. I found a teleporter that led me to an area that was close, but not close enough, to the main gargoyle. Luckily I was an assassin, and so were a few others.
Noting this pathway, all I had to do was jump closer, fall, but not before launching a lucky 7 or two into his eyes. It wasn’t long before the floor was covered with overlapping gargoyles, and the main one down. In much haste, a warrior and a few others began sweeping the floor, turning any lesser gargoyle to nothing but rubble. Taking the Marks of Evil, we dropped them at the door, leading to a simple (be happy it’s simple) jump quest. The next room contained a dead guy, who is a necesity to the quest: Sharen III’s corpse.
Oh, and that jump quest contained an article of clothing, also needed.
To another room, contained bat-like things carrying living rocks. Why rocks? Anyway, it was A LOT easier sweeping these guys up. Unfortunately, someone grabbed a few marks of evil from these guys and threw it with the gargoyle marks. Thus, we couldn’t open this door.
A third door was locked, admitting only lvl30-. Nothing is known by me of that area.
I forgot what the fourth door contained.
Unfortunately, we got stuck at that point, and thus we left.
The life of a GQ lasts only 90 minutes, but if you can get past the first few levels, I assure you that it will be an interesting experience.
*Assurance is not guaranteed.
I love the detail you put into describing it because i’ve wondered what the GQ was like.
i thought it was only for like level 80+ guilds though
would a level 51 fighter stand a chance at all?
Jump Quest?!
O:
Level 80+ if you want to actually stand a chance. Anything less than 70 is a complete suicide run, and waste of EXP.
Tiger would pwn at this.
o.o
No.
I would.
Hey, isn’t there a glitch of the 90 minute thing?
Cause I was first in line for more than 4 hours o_o
Lol damn 4 hours. awesome . I wanna try now.
~NSAA
Sounds like a betch.
But I still want to try it out.
There was a glitch where if the guild ran out of time while GQing, the game would still think a guild was in there even where there wasn’t. I believe that glitch is fixed now — otherwise my guild would not have gone on so many (incompleted) runs.
Before it was fixed: Number 53 on the wait list.
After it was fixed: Number 3 on the wait list.
;D
If you want to beat it, you hafta be uber pro. The Necromancer boss guy has like, 5.8mil HP.
Woah.
Can a level 105 DK, 83 Hermit, 81 Crusader, 81 priest, 78 DK, go against that? O_O;;
