I expected that, without my brother around, I’d finally get some peaceful mapling time. But when I start MS, the GameGuard window freezes at the ‘connecting’ stage; when its seizure ends, it slams my screen with a 2D-morse-code error message (that image over there *points*, I don”t know how to link to it >.

‘Server maintenance?’ is my second tech-geek guess, so I rush to MS site, only to see the ‘Your connnection sucks and therefore, the page cannot be shown’. I tried with different site, because it wouldn’t be the first time that maple’s is down. That other site didn’t work either.

At this time, I started giving evil looks at my ADSL modem, aka the Unindentified Flying Ashtray. It’s a tiny round piece of junk with three red lights, but it’s free and it can predict the weather; seriously, a few hours before any storm, it starts acting weirder than a cow on prozac that just hit an electric fence.

Resisting the pressing urge to hit it against a wall, I tried deleting cookies of that pile of garbage called IE (I don’t use it, but other people in this house do, with dire consecuences), and still no positive results.

‘So it is the connection’. Before rebooting, I thought it’d be good to disconnnect from the internet and reconnect et voilà, back to life! Remember, if something doesn’t work in a computer, stopping and restarting it should do the trick; if not, feeding it to the goats should also work.

Next thing I see is MS patch window. I wasn’t expecting an upgrade beacuse I barely go to the site. Anyways, hoping that this time I didn’t have to download it manually I started reading: ‘game chhannels blah, blah… new quests… “Two Ways to Get to Korean Folk Town”?? When did KFT come out?’ I go back up and find the line ‘Explore the wonder and mysteries of Korean Folk Town!’. So yeah, I’m a little bit dislexic lately.

The rest of the day contiued without much further incident, ‘cept for asomeone in the Victoria-Orbis ship saying that rangers suck (tell me that the next time one KSes you with AR!) and maple shutting down when I alt-tabbed to basil >.<. i wanted to search for training spots maybe would find the one where could make more than measly an hour getting>everywhere I go. But it was too full of people, so I left.
