Double-Sided Prologue: Foundation
PROLOGUE
“One day, I’m going to be a cleric and be invincible!”
“Assassins rock!! I wanna be a Hermit!”
“I suppose being a Hunter wouldn’t be too bad would it?”
“Spearman for me… Can’t get enough of ’em!”
The 4 kids were sitting around the table, with a cup of hot cocoa in front of them, discussing their future dreams of what they wanted to be. It was a snowy winter day, and the children were innocent and so naive, where alas the cabin of El Nath was brutal. Of course, they couldn’t care less, and they continued to talk about their motives.
“Well you know what? -Tiger- is MY hero, hes known to be the strongest here on Orbis!” squeaked one of the kids.
“Yo…Didn’t you hear? He’s been known for dealing with other players and cheating his way up!” shouted a child,
“Nah.. Couldn’t be true, he wouldn’t go that low!”
“Well you don’t exactly know him would you?” said another.
As they were talking, one of the ladies who worked behind the bar walked up to them. She took their empty cups, and it looked as if she was eavesdropping on their conversation.
“Would you like a refill boys?” asked the lady.
“Yes please!” replied a boy.
“That would be great,”
“Thanks miss!”
“Alright!”
“No problem,” The lady smiled, and she walked back and started to refill the cups.
One of the boys spun around and started to chat again,
“Heh.. that lady is great huh? Free refills!”
“You idiot, it’s not free.. she just asked us if we wanted more..”
“Hey, c’mon guys lets not say bad words..”
“I’m with Jay..”
The childrens’ head spun to face Jays.
“What..?”
“Well.. You DID say you wanted to be an Assassin didn’t you?”
“Well YOU wanted to be a Cleric , Tae…” shot back Jay,
There was a moment of silence in which Tae and Jay were glaring at each other. Eyes locked on each other, the two other boys were found in an awkward situation. But to their relief, the lady came back with the cocoas.
“Here you go boys,” the lady said as she handed the cups to each child.
“Thanks,” said the boys in unison.
The bartender merely smiled and walked back to her job, and as she took out a rag, she started to whistle a merry tune and wiped the desk.
“ANYWAY,” Tae broke the silence, “Clerics are SOOO much better than Assassins.. I mean.. HEAL oh JOY!”
“Heh.. All you got are little girl clothes and do nothing but wave a wand like Harry Potter..”
“SAY WHAT?! Well at least mage parents dont name their children after NARUTO for being a sin or something..”
“Yeah.. and you don’t see us naming our kids Harry Potter..”
The two boys sniggered and Tae spun his head to glare at them.
“I dont see anything good about Spearmen, Ken!” he yelled.
“What’re you gonna do? Kill us with your wand?” said Ken, the warrior dreamer.
The boys howled with laughter, except Tae.
“SHUT-UP SIMON,” screamed Tae,
The laughter ended abruptly, and when Simon looked at the others, they started to burst out laughing again.
“I DONT SEE ANYTHING FUNNY ABOUT BEING A CLERIC!!”
“Yeah, if you don’t like healing 24/7.. Too stupid to buy your own pots..!” sniggered Ken.
“YEAH, if looks were money, you’d be so poor I’d have to lend you money!” joked Jay.
The boys turned and faced Jay.
“Dude. That wasn’t funny.” said Simon.
“That was more pathetic than funny I’d say..” agreed Ken.
“Shut up,” Jay turned red.
At that precise moment, Tae got up and by spilling the cocoa all over the floor, he started to say,
“YOU KNOW WHAT?! Mages rule, that’s what I think, so you 3 better shut up!”
Fuming, Tae dashed out the door, with the 3 kids dumbfounded. They starred and it looked as if they were trying to comprehend what just happened, but they were completely lost of what just occured. It suddenly struck them that this wasn’t going to end nicely… Because they had experience with Tae… And if you mess with him..
Things end badly.
Very badly.
