The world seems to have froze, Nami could feel her heart beating slowly. ‘He doesn’t love me for who I am, it’s only because I remind him of somebody…’ she thought faintly. Kuroki closed his broad hand over hers and looks her in the eyes.
“Nami…listen to me…’ Kuroki began
But Nami couldn’t hear him, she was too busy with her thoughts that were racing through her head. ‘Does he really love me? Am I just someone for him to get under the sheets with? Do I really mean that much to him?’ Nami thought. She then lets go the locket and drops to her knees with her hands covering her red eyes.
“Why is this happening to me? One minute I thought my life was perfect the next I find out you love another girl.” Nami said.
“Listen Nami, It was a long time ago, I’m trying to move on.” Kuroki said, trying to make her understand.
“No! If you did try to move on you wouldn’t have that locket around your neck!” Nami said in a low but fierce voice.
‘How can I make her understand that, this locket means so much to me.’ Kuroki thought. He tried to soothe her by putting rubbing her back, but Nami smacked his hand away. She got up and took her bag of belongings and went into the washroom. She locked the door and looked into the mirror.
“Why is this happening to me…” Nami said to herself.
She feel to her knees and hugged herself rocking back and forth. She closed her eyes tightly trying to remember happy times, like when she went fishing for the first time. She remembered she had a rough time trying to haul up her fish, but eventually she got the fish. Then a knock on the door rattled her thoughts and brought reality closing in and around her.
“Nami, what are you doing in there?” Kuroki asked concerned.
“Leave me alone!” Nami shouted.
“I can’t! I-i-i love you.” Kuroki said quietly.
“No you don’t! You’re still in love with her!” Nami said.
At that moment Kuroki dropped down with his back to the door. His past flashing inside his head. He remembered it so clearly. Natalie and him were sitting under a big oak tree on top of a tall cliff, enjoying the fresh spring breeze while they ate fresh fruits and drank lemonade. Kuroki hugged Natalie close to his chest, wanting he moment to last forever. She giggled and placed a kiss on his cheek and Kuroki returned the favor. They sat there quietly, enjoying the view.
Just as everything was gonna fall in place for Kuroki, a shriek caught his and Natalie’s attention. They got up and walked near the edge of the cliff, and looked over. Natalie stepped a little to close to the edge and a few rocks chipped off and fell down. Kuroki quickly pulled her next to him.
“Is anyone down there?” Kuroki yelled.
“Help me!” A high voice yelled back.
“Sit tight, I’m coming to help you!” Kuroki said.
Kuroki began to walk when Natalie’s arms went around his waist. He stopped and turned around, and hugged her tightly.
“I’ll be back, I promise, Natalie.” Kuroki said assuringly.
He lifted up her chin and kissed her hard and slowly. Then he pulled away and began to climb down.
“Be careful, Kuroki!” Natalie yelled.
He continued climbing down. ‘One foot at a time’ he kept on reminding himself. Then he got to the platform, where the person was trapped. He stretched out his hand to help the stranger, then the stranger took off his cloak and revealed a shinning claw on his arm. At that moment Kuroki knew he was in danger, it was an ambush. Three other sins came jumping down on the platform.
“Hahaha, still the same Kuroki, helping the weak ones.” The stranger said.
“What do you want, Darren?” Kuroki asked quietly.
“Well actually I’m taking back what’s mine, which is Natalie.” Darren said.
“You can never have her, she chose to be with me.” Kuroki said.
“I guess we have to take her by force now do we?” Darren asked rhetorically.
The three other sins surronded Kuroki. Kuroki began to take out his Ryden, when a sin threw two stars to knock it to the edge of the platform. Kuroki dove and got it back and fired at the sin that was on his right. But that sin blocked his arrow with his claw, and threw two stars at his right arm and kniocked his bow over the edge. Darren and the rest of the sins threw multiple stars at his arms and chest. Kuroki dodged them as much as he could, but his strength was wearing out and he couldn’t look at the stars flying towards him. The skimmed his skin and cut through his top.
Then Natalie teleported down to where Kuroki was. She was immediately surronded by the sins. Darren walked up to her and chuckled.
“Wow, Natalie, you changed a lot since the last time we met.” Darren commented dryly.
“What do you want?” Natalie asked.
“I want you, you were always mine, was meant to be mine, till he came along.” Darren said.
“I never loved you, you were always such a jerk.” Natalie retored.
Darren’s face turned red as he got real mad. He loaded his stars and was ready to launch them at Natalie when all of a sudden Kuroki came out and blocked it. A star was stuck in his arm. He dropped down on his back. Natalie quickly ran to his side and supported his head on her arm.
“Kuroki, you can’t leave me.” Natalie said, as she began to cry.
“I won’t, I promise you, I will always be with you.” Kuroki promised.
“Very touching, but your time’s up.” Darren cutted in.
Darren got his stars ready again and this time with the help of his members, he would surely not miss killing Kuroki. He threw the stars at Kuroki but Natalie whispered a spell and the stars froze and dropped to the ground. She quickly whispered another spell and lightning came down and electricuted the sins. They were all sent falling down to the bottomless pit.
Natalie let out a sigh as she took care of them. She ran to Kuroki’s side and nursed him as much as she could with the potions that she was carrying. Then, a piece of rope came outta no where and wrapped around her leg. Before Kuroki knew what was going on, the last words to come out of Natalie’s mouth was.
“I love you, and be happy.” Natalie whispered.
“If I’m going to die, you’re coming with me b*tch!” Darren yelled.
“Noooo! Natalie!” Kuroki yelled, trying to get a grasp on her arm.
But before he could reach her Darren pulled her down to the pit with him. And just like that, Kuroki snapped out of his wandering thoughts and remembered he was still in a room with Nami.
“Nami! Open the door please!” Kuroki pleaded.
There was no answer. Kuroki told her that if she doesn’t open the door he’s gonna burst through the door. But still no answer. He took a step backward and kicked the door. It gave out easily, but when he entered the bathroom, Nami was gone.
