The rifle was a frozen piece of steel in her hands, reflecting what little light the dismal place had to give. It was as cold as a walk-in fridge, cold as El Nath, cold as a gun. Caleio stepped out onto the 100th floor. Darkness consumed the hallway like the very bowels of hell.
Chapter 45: A Victory

Maldran Argali slackened his grip on his dual R-13 Redemption Sub-machine guns as two twin magazines landed softly on the blood-stained grass. The night was lit up by a halo of flashing lights, screaming at him with every burst of flame. The explosions were so stubbornly consistent, that they were now merely muffles of sound in the distance. And in that brief second of observation, Maldran reloaded his weapon and spun around.
Author’s Note: I’m going to be gone on Friday and Saturday to try out for All-State on my clarinet, so I’m posting this chapter early.
Chapter 44: Getting In

Three days had past since the incidents in El Nath. Three days since all of the horror and suffering the platoon had been through. But it seemed like just yesterday when Niel got off of the dropship, when Aaru collected the sphere, when they fell into the cave only to be ambushed by machine-gun wielding zombies, when Rey rescued them by blowing the cave apart, when Repty, Mexiufax, Aaru, Billy, and the others died.
Chapter 43: A Final Memory

Darkness engulfed the tiny island of Navasota like a blanket of death. There was no wind anymore; everything was eerily still. The dying flames of the row of twisted and melted metal still gave off fumes of putrid, pitch black smoke. And silhouetted in front of it all, was General Nezzy, with his infamous smirk etched upon his face.
Hey everyone! It’s the start of the new year of ’08!!! May this year bring you all happiness and joy and all that excellent jazz. I hope everyone had an awesome party or celebration or whatever you guys do on new years eve lol. Anyways, I was driving home from my friend’s party, and I was watching fireworks go off everywhere on the horizon where my house was. I had this indiscribable feeling of peace and happiness overwhelm me, and I was like, hmm, maybe I’ll write something about this. So here is a little something I made to commemorate the new year!
Chapter 42: Reaching the End

Felixs left foot suddenly paused in mid-stride. His ears perked up, picking up a most minute disturbance in the air. He quietly whispered the order to halt. Gently, he placed his foot on the ice, hoping it would stay his weight. The treads of his combat boots hit the floor.

Chapter 41: The Ragged Edge of Disaster

The setting sun cast brilliant hues of golden orange across the light blue sky. Little wisps of cirrus clouds streaked through the heavens, the water vapor magnificently magnifying the suns last rays. It was a picturesque scene of tranquility and serenity. A cool breeze rushed along the beach, rustling the palm trees and tall grass. But as the wind twisted and turned through the tree trunks into the interior of the island, it slowly died out and mixed with the red stains on the once green grass.

Chapter 40: Against the World

The klaxon alarm started to scream its last dying symphony onto the metal decks of the great warship. As the snow and wind continued to lash out against the steel plating, the muffled droning of a dropship disappeared into the night, disappearing into the low-hung clouds of darkness. The Isis was alone now, abandoned like a used car, forgotten like a lost toy. It was cold as a walk-in fridge on the outside, but things were getting hot inside the hull of the great ship.

Chapter 39: Returning the Favor

Michael Reinharts eyes whizzed from his sergeant to his sniper, to his weapons specialist, and to his lieutenant. His worn hands tightened around his black S-16 Scarab Assault Rifle, making sure his actions were locked and loaded. A rush of adrenaline streamed through his body as he pressed his right eye to the scope mounted on top of the handle of the rifle. He could tell that tonight, they would make history.
Author’s Note: Sorry I haven’t been on for a long time. I was in Norway and then my computer broke back in the States, so I am totally out of luck (I’m at my friend’s house right now. Anyways, I hope you guys still remember me!
Chapter 38: A Change of Heart

Zanna Hardings DR-14 Dark Ritual Flamethrower burst through the raging snow in a stream of white hot plasma. Through the terrible wails of the thrashing plesiosaur, the light of her fire suddenly revealed a cold grey metal plating. Her heart beating up her throat, she released the palm triggers and sprinted towards the metal hull. In her mind, she could not, would not believe it, but alas, their savior had come.
