Alright, so I saw a topic over on Basil today. Needless to say, it ruffled my feathers. Also, you apparently can’t say “bewbies” without a reply getting caught by the filters. So silly. Anyway, since I can’t post it over there, maybe I can get it here.

Minh04 : I find it amazingly stupid that girls expect guys to treat them better on ms and give them free stuff just because they are girls. You dont see anyone giving us guys free stuff. Yea, you say we are supposed to be nice to girls and give them more of a chance, but what happened to women’s independence and equaltity? If they want equal rights, they should have equal opportunities. No more free fame or mesos plox cuz your a girl, go earn it like everyone else.

Here was my wonderful scathing reply by a very flustered female.

Alright, maybe I just don’t pay attention or I’ve managed to evade all of these buggers, but I have never seen any girl/female gamer above level 30 act like that. Under level 30 is a different story, but both genders pull that crap. Also, most of the “girls” that try and play stunts like this are guys trying to act stupid. Also, to your comments that guys never get free stuff – false. Several of my male friends have been given free stuff just by asking nicely and not being annoying little idiots. They’ve also returned the favor to other players.

I also know several actual female players – I’m one of them. We all worked to get to the levels we are now. We never begged or pulled the “oh em gee were gurlz treat us spezials”. You’re much more likely to see a male player spontaneously give female players free items because of some genetic weakness to “omigosh chest area female anatomy”.

It’s not that you’re supposed to be nice to girls, it’s that you should treat them as you yourself would wish to be treated. Although, maybe you like being hit on by a hundred people you’ve never met before because a two-inch pixel character is apparently “hot”. Hey, what do I know? I’m just a dumb female.

Now, I know he said “some”. It should be more like “most girls aren’t like this”. Maybe he’s just had some bad encounters with G.I.R.L.s. Still, he shouldn’t be making idiotic comments like this because of just a few people. Heck, ~52% of the world is female (yes, there actually are more women than men in the world). I don’t even see this in real life. Why would being on the internet make it any different?

Anyway, feel free to rip into me if you see the need. I haven’t gotten to do something like this for a while, and it felt good.

Out of the thousands of girls I have come across in MS that only happened once. She kept saying ‘cc plz b/c im cute -f4-‘. But your right it isn’t even most girls that act like that. Maybe a few people but that is all. That is just like saying all sins are kill stealers,

Beggars are beggars, they’re all annoying. It’s actually less common in female Maplers, because frankly, there’s alot more guys than girls on Maple Story (at least to my experience). I’ve only met one girl begging as such, and she wasn’t even like that, just the typical “mesos plox”. -Twas probably a G.I.R.L. anyway, because I think a real girl would have at least formed something coherent before hitting enter.

So yeah, this guy makes a valid point, in certain very specific scenarios, but then he goes on to generalize, making him an idiot.

It’s like sins and ksing. People immediately assume that all sins are efil ksers because a few of the ones they’ve met are.

The one area I see where he’s coming from is that a small minority of women are adamant about women’s rights, demanding equal treatment and such, but at the same time want to be treated above men. It really pisses me off when someone like that says don’t go hard on me (in sports) because I’m a girl.

Yeah, I agree with you. My mother is rather adamant about women’s rights, but she actually does something about it and doesn’t complain. she went into the miliatary when she was 17, and didn’t gripe when she was treated “rough” just like the other men in her unit. Heck, I’m all for the whole “if you want equal rights, don’t expect special treatment”.
