Everyone of us agreed to the terms of use thingy before we made our accounts. We all did, because if we didn’t, we wouldn’t be able to play. However, how many of you actually read that long thing. I know I didn’t when I first agreed to it. Well, I actually read the entire thing (only took me about 30 minutes) and I think you would be surprised at many of the things. I outlined them for you. Enjoy.

We reserve the right at any time to:
 Change the terms and conditions of this Agreement;
 Change the Service, including terminating, eliminating, supplementing, modifying, adding to or discontinuing any content or data on or feature of the Service or the hours that the Service is available; or
 Change any fees or charges, if any, related to your use of the Service.

We reserve the right to limit, suspend, interrupt or terminate the availability of the Service, in whole or in part, to you and any other user or person, geographic area or jurisdiction, at any time and in our sole discretion.

We also reserve the right, with or without notice to you, to suspend or terminate your Account and this Agreement in our reasonable discretion.

***I found this many times. The “Service” (a.k.a. Maple Story) can do whatever it wants as long as it finds it’s OWN actions acceptable. However, you must realize that this is only for legal complications, and it is assumed that they do not go crazy with anything they do.**

Your Account may be used only by you, except that if you are a parent or guardian, you may permit one (1) of your minor children who is 13 years of age or older to use the Account instead of you.

**This is an unknown one for many. You account can not be used by ANYONE but you. This means your best friend, cousin, girl friend, not even you own brother, may claim or even USE your account. Personally, I do not believe this to be fair.**

You acknowledge that, if any information provided by you is untrue, inaccurate, not current or incomplete, we reserve the right to terminate this Agreement and your use of the Service and, in our sole discretion, to report you to the appropriate government authorities

**I just find this funny. Before this they made sure that everything you give to the Company is accurate. I just think it is funny that if, for example, you lie about your age, then you can go to jail. Again, realize this is to eliminate all legal complications that may result and get them in trouble.**

Company is not responsible or liable if your Account is “hacked” or if your Account (or the information contained therein) is otherwise deleted

**You’re on your own if your account gets hacked. Do not come crying to us.**

Impersonates someone else, including but not limited to, another user, NPC or GM

Is comprised of or includes the name of a popular culture icon, persona or media personality (e.g., “SpiderMan” or “TigerWoods”) or religious deity or figure or your real name or surname;

Is comprised of or includes gibberish (e.g., “Akdnvprq”)

Is comprised of or includes “Leet” or “Dudespeak” (e.g., OMGnewb, xLOLx, AFKbotman)

You agree that you will not use misspellings or alternative spellings or take any other actions for the purpose of circumventing the foregoing restrictions.

**All this is interesting, and relates to making your gamertag. Using L for and I because the name you want is taken is actually illegal, and warrants an immediate ban. Man, looks like I’m going to get banned.

Also, how often have you seen a name that has gibberish in it? I bet none of them have been banned.

The last this is interesting because it bans any impersonations of letters for anything. Can make a name? I’ll just use a “3” instead of an “E.” This is illegal.**

While using the Service, [one may not] engage in rude, unlawful, harassing, vulgar, obscene, hateful, threatening, abusive or otherwise objectionable behavior, including, but not limited to, looting, kill stealing, sexual comments and/or cursing

**There it is. I was as surprised as you were. You may not loot or kill steal.**

Transmit: (i) any content or information that is unlawful, harassing, vulgar, obscene, hateful, fraudulent, threatening, abusive, libelous, defamatory, obscene or otherwise objectionable, or infringes our or any third party’s intellectual property or other rights

**All those mega microphones that flame one another. . .illegal. And to think: something that is publicly transmitted should be seen my a GM. . .hmmm**

(iv) any advertisements

**Again, you would think someone would see all of them and ban someone.**

Engage in spamming or flooding

**This one is interesting. Have you ever been in the free market and you get stopped because you type too many things at once? (Not for repeating the same thing, but rather alternating it over and over again) This is actually illegal, yet it is a necessary part of the game. Just goes to show you, not everything they say is wrong is actually wrong. (Clearly)**

“Frame” or “mirror” any part of the Service without our prior written authorization

**This is absolutely harlarious! Initially, you cannot make fun of Maple Story in any way. What’s even funnier is that you can if they give you permission to make fun of you. So next time you feel like flaming Maple Story, please, for the love of God, ask them first.**

Engage in using macros (i.e., “macroing”), auto-looting or robot play (i.e., “booting”) or any other play that allows you (or any character you are controlling) to automatically function with or without your presence

**This one is interesting. Does anyone have auto-pickups for your pets? Yup, you guessed it. This is illegal. After all, you control your pet. It is only a lifeless doll that obeys your every command (well, sorta).

We reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to take any actions we deem necessary and appropriate to preserve the integrity of the Service, Materials, Cash Items and/or Software. We further reserve the right to determine what conduct is outside the “spirit” of the Game.

**Here it is. Maple Story can do WHATEVER they want. And know what the sad thing is? We all agreed to it.**

Harass, threaten, stalk, embarrass or cause distress, unwanted attention or discomfort to any other person or player.

**Thou shalt not flame!!!**

You agree that you cannot and have no right to sell or otherwise transfer any of the Materials or Cash Items, or any other content, materials or information included in the Service, in whole or in part, to any third person or entity whatsoever, including but not limited to, on Internet auction sites (i.e., eBay, IGE) or in return for anything of value.

**Here it is again for those of you who missed my last blog. This is why all the people are getting banned for the cash shop stuff.**

You may not distribute, modify, transmit or publicly display the Materials without the written consent of Company.

**Even wonder why you can only take your picture off Maple Global when posting it on Basil. See above. What is even more interesting is every time you take a screen shot and post it, you are breaking the rules.**

The Service is owned and operated by Company in conjunction with others pursuant to contractual arrangements and the Materials (and any intellectual property and other rights relating thereto) and any other content, materials and information included in the Service, including, but not limited to, Cash Items, are and will remain the property of Company

**YOU OWN NOTHING. THEY OWN EVERYTHING. THEY EVEN OWN YOU!!!! Face it. They stuff you pay your hard earned money on is not even yours, even though you paid for it.**

You acknowledge and agree that you do not acquire any ownership rights whatsoever in or to the Service, in whole or in part (including without limitation, with respect to the Site, Game, Materials, Cash Items and/or Software) by using the Service or the Materials or by purchasing any Cash Items. This includes, but is not limited to, the character(s), character ID(s), Forum ID(s), account ID(s), Cash Items and/or other Game items acquired or created in the Game, through the Cash Shop and/or any text sent to us or written in our forums and/or through the use of the Service.

**Are you kidding me! They own all the emails you send to them!**

If any provision of this Agreement is found to be unlawful, void or for any reason unenforceable, then that provision shall be deemed severable from this Agreement and shall not affect the validity and enforceability of any remaining provisions.

**Hacking is not illegal! Everyone start hacking! It is ok because they do not enforce it!**

Thank you for your time, and remeber, Maple Story is a company. To some people out there it is nessessary to cover their butts! Although I am the one who did this, I actually stand by everything in the terms. If you owned your own company, you would do the same thing.
